OT: Need help getting season tickets to their owners [RESOLVED]

Submitted by LostOnNorth on

So a friend just bought a house in Ann arbor off dixboro past Plymouth. Today he got in the mail 4 sets of season tickets, and we're assuming they belong to the elderly couple who owned the place. My friend doesn't have the phone number of the couple who owned the house anymore and we don't know how to reach them. The last name on the tickets is DeWolf, anyone here know these people or know a way to get their contact info? Thanks

UPDATE: Big thanks to Bokee88 for getting us in contact with their grandson. Only took an hour from the time between posting and having his email in my inbox! always impressed with the people on the blog. I appreciate the other suggestions as well.

They will likely contact the ticket office asking for a new copy to be sent to their address and the tickets your friend received will be useless.

The asshole in me is telling your friend to not say anything, and try and get into the games with those tickets.

I texted their grandson (41 yr old) and he confirmed its them. His grandparents just moved. He said he would tell his Dad but if you want to give me a way to contact your friend I'll have pass it along. Is there a way to send a private message on the blog?

Ditto all the solutions above. You could also contact the country treasurers or county recorders office. Typically when a real estate transaction closes, paperwork is filed with the county for the purposes of notifying the entities of the new property tax payers. At lest in Illinois that form (PTAX) also has a forwarding address for the seller. Another idea is to remover what title company you used during the real estate transaction. Even if it was FSBO they likely used a title insurance or escrow company to close the deal. They will know the sellers' forwarding address.

The ticket office could easily cancel the tickets you have and send the owners new tickets. You don't use any tickets other than the MSU and OSU tickets, which you place in the East Lansing and Columbus craigslists. Just to be safe; go buy a burner from radio shack to sell them.
