OT: MLB Trade Deadline
Might as well get this thing started today. Sounds like David Price could be traded within a few hours to the Toronto Blue Jays.
Rumored deal is for: LHP Daniel Norris, LHP Matt Boyd and CF Anthony Alford
Sources: Heyman, Morosi, Rosenthal Twitter updates.
EDIT: Price for Norris, Boyd and LHP Jairo Labourt is official.
Sources: Everywhere.
I think the Tigers positioned themselves very well, waiting until Hamels was traded before the "retooling" decision.
Should be very exciting.
Very solid return if the above comes to fruition. Lots of Jays fans love Alford.

And simultaneously too busy/lazy to look it up; what's the general value of the guys rumored to be headed to Detroit for Price?
Blue Jays #1 (Norris), #4 (Alford), and #11 (Boyd) prospects. Norris is a real nice piece.
is the Jays top prospect, a top 25 guy and 4th best LHP prospect in baseball. Alford is currently at Class A Lansing but wowing the crowds there. A few years away but clearly a very talented player. Boyd is at AAA Buffalo, probably a year or two away.
Norris is the prize.

I'm betting Cespedes gets unloaded somewhere...Soria is probable as well. Sell Sell Sell
Norris might be their #1, but he hasn't fared well as of late in AAA.
Sources confirm: #BlueJays getting Price. First reported: @JonHeymanCBS.

Yep, Jairo Labourt in his stead.
norris becomes an immediate middle of rotation guy; boyd a situationaly lefty out of the pen. now trade cespede, soria, et al for prospects to rebuild the farm system.
nearly $60M in salary drops off the books in 2016, plenty of loot to get a front-end starter, closer and OF.
the numbers I read on Norris. 3-10, 4.27 ERA at Buffalo. Has been up with the Jays, but back down too...
Can bring that ERA up into the mid-6's.
will be fine. most consider him a future #1 or #2 starter. I will settle for a #4 next year.
If I were DD I would try to move Rajai Davis too.
Dombrowski did well with the return for a rental. Norris has big time potential and Boyd likely becomes the Tigers 2nd best pitching prospect.
We'll see what he can get for Cespedes and Soria, but thus far he's done well with just this one trade.
So I already love Norris because the guy lives out of a van...

This is a good trade. Norris is a good prospect, and honestly I didn't think they'd get that much for a rental. Hopefully they can move Cespedes for another young arm and be set up to compete for a couple more years.
I kinda wonder if Verlander had pitched well these past couple of weeks they would have moved him as well. Probably not a huge return, but maybe one or two high-level prospects or another guy who might be overpaid.
Norris was a nice get. A true caveman there.
