OT: Lions venting thread / dead inside

Submitted by AeonBlue on

It's weird to feel feelings about football stuff. I don't like it. Vent here.

I've never seen a PI flag picked up for any other Reason than its just uncatchable. I've certainly never seen it picked up after the the announcement. That said there were plenty of "same old Lions" moments in this game. And that is why the Lions routinely get no respect from the refs.

with a 63 yard field goal to provide the winning points in a game with New Orleans against  the Lions many years ago. I thought back then wow I hope this is not a sign of things to come. That thought has haunted me the rest of my life. I had to stop watching in the 80's with nothing left in my fandome tank.  Go Blue! was the answer.

They could not score 1 single point in the second half. We all said if Detroit scores a touchdown or two in the second half the lead would be too much for Dallas. If Detroit just comes out and scores before Dallas does in the second half the game would be over.

This game seemed totally in line with officiating. I thought it was a great pick up for pass interference.  Holding is what it is.  After watching JJ Watt not get a single holding penalty flag in his favor all season, there isn't anything else I would expect in the playoffs.  NFL doesn't want flags thrown on every play in big games.

If I was a Lions fan, I'm pissed about not going for it on 4th and 1.

I'm stilled pissed about this game. No one will ever tell me Lions didn't get this game taken away from them. That 4th quarter officiating didn't pass the smell test. I'm convinced that outcome was determined. They got to the 4th quarter and the NFL panicked and the refs started blowing calls and turning a blind eye to holding calls. My eyes don't lie.

My non-whining self: the Lions need to score more than 3 points in the second half if they want to win a playoff road game.  My whining self: the Lions lost because of the picked up PI and O-line holding no-call on Romo's TD pass play.
