I hope Reggie Bush takes a more active role in the offense than what we've seen so far.
September 14th, 2014 at 1:24 PM ^
Good to see the Lions so strong against the run. Let's see if the defense can duplicate what they showed last week. If they can, the Lions might be a surprise this year.
September 15th, 2014 at 9:08 AM ^
Yes, the Lions will invent new and surprising ways to blow games.
September 14th, 2014 at 1:25 PM ^
I don't get how that wasn't a fumble.
September 14th, 2014 at 1:26 PM ^
or does it seem like the Lions play the Panthers a lot?

Cousins didn't start, and calling Foles an MSU product is very generous.
September 14th, 2014 at 1:33 PM ^
That's depressing, but looking at the bright side... The B1G has how many NFL starters at QB this weekend?
The 4 Spartys, 2 UM (Henne & Brady), 1 Wisky (R Wilson), 1 Purdue (Brees), anybody know of anymore? That's 8 of 32 or 25% of NFL starting QBs from the B1G.
September 14th, 2014 at 1:36 PM ^
Cousins and Stanton are not starting QBs. Only playing do to injury. MSU doesn't get credit for Foles. Arizona does. Hoyer will benched by week 5.
So in 3 weeks they will have none unless RG3 is hurt. In that case Cousins is still only playing because of injury.
September 14th, 2014 at 2:14 PM ^
While I know that the Skins are only playing Cousins because RGIII is out, I actually think Cousins is the better QB, and this might be where he takes a strangle hold of the job if RGIII is out for an extended period of time.
September 14th, 2014 at 2:18 PM ^
going back to his rookie year in preseason with RGIII, when he largely outplayed him. RGIII went on to have a successful first year, but esp. after his knee injury, the Start Cousins noise has been louder and louder. Cousins has outplayed him at every opportunity and should be starting from what I've seen of the Redskins.
September 14th, 2014 at 2:26 PM ^
Cousins was absolutely dreadful last year when he played. There is no other way to describe it. People say the backup QB is often the most popular player on the team, but the hype on Cousins is insane and he has done nothing to deserve it. And beating up on the Jags means nothing.

It looks like RGIII got hurt again on a play where he wasn't touched by the defense (made a throw falling out of bounds). Cousins looks to get some snaps here.
And Cousins just threw a TD pass to the Fullback!

That 58.4 QB rating last year certainly showed it. If he is your QB you are winning nothing and NFL coaches realize that which is the reason Washington could't get anything of value for him.
September 14th, 2014 at 1:28 PM ^
Really nice move by Tate there.
September 14th, 2014 at 1:29 PM ^
I have Megatron and Kelvin Benjamin in my line up today. My opponent has the Panthers D. I'd like to see over 70 combined pts in this game lol....
September 14th, 2014 at 1:30 PM ^
Let me just say that I WAS WRONG.
I thought the Tate pick-up was bad for us and that we paid too much for him. I guess I didn't realize at all how good he was. He has been much better than I expected him to be and he's a perfect fit for our WRs.
September 14th, 2014 at 1:31 PM ^
Tate is a Beast! Great pickup by Mayhew.
September 14th, 2014 at 1:32 PM ^
We may have overpaid a little, but he is a great fit into the puzzle considering the other WR/TEs we have
September 14th, 2014 at 1:30 PM ^
Freese needs to go and fast, holding the offense back.
September 14th, 2014 at 1:33 PM ^
Not entirely sure if that left foot was in, but I'll take it
EDIT: That last angle made it look more believable. Johnson is a monster.

Fumble..welp
September 14th, 2014 at 1:33 PM ^
Three fumbles in the first 13 minutes. Not a good start.
September 14th, 2014 at 1:34 PM ^
Come on Bell.
September 14th, 2014 at 1:35 PM ^
Mother of God, just bring back Jason Hanson already. He could step off his couch and kick better than most of the kickers in the league.
September 14th, 2014 at 1:37 PM ^
Good defense on that drive.
September 14th, 2014 at 1:37 PM ^
I get that Caldwell really likes Bell, but come on. Get Reggie Bush the ball.
September 14th, 2014 at 1:37 PM ^
Ndamukong looks to be clearly fired up from those Donkey Kong Suh comments.
September 14th, 2014 at 1:38 PM ^
Has Bell gone soft now that he got paid? Hasn't looked the same so far this year.
September 14th, 2014 at 1:42 PM ^
Bell has had fumble issues in previous years as well.
September 14th, 2014 at 1:39 PM ^
Lions have to limit their mistakes. They are a very talented team, yet continue to shoot themselves in the foot.
September 14th, 2014 at 1:48 PM ^
1 billion times in my lifetime, with varying use of the word talented
September 14th, 2014 at 1:51 PM ^

September 14th, 2014 at 1:56 PM ^
Typical Lions defense on this drive.

That missed FG and Fumble are about to hurt!
September 14th, 2014 at 2:01 PM ^
Nice stop by the D and thats what a made FG looks like.
September 14th, 2014 at 2:01 PM ^
Well, holding Carolina to an FG here is something of a minor victory here despite the fact that it puts the Panthers on the board, but it still doesn't make me want to put some sort of adhesive on Bell's gloves all the same - that fumble still stings a bit.
