OT: Kovacs' new 'do

Submitted by Ali G Bomaye on

Since there's not much content to go around in July, here's a shot of Jordan Kovacs at Dolphins training camp.  Looks like either there was some hazing, or the South Beach lifestyle got to him.

I have pretty high hopes for Gordon to step into Kovacs' leadership role. I think there's a good chance we don't see much of a drop-off in that sense, but do see an upgrade in athleticism in the defensive backfield. For all of Kovacs' strengths, swapping him out for Wilson is definitely a net positive from an athleticism stand-point.

Not according to those FAQ you linked.  On-topic stuff includes anything Michigan sports related, anything related to other Big Ten teams or upcoming opponents, stuff about the blog itself, and University of Michigan topics that don't relate to sports.  Off-topic stuff includes pro sports of any variety.  Kovacs is a Michigan alum, but this post has nothing to do with Michigan sports, and is definitely related to pro sports.

I don't think it matters much when we're talking about a grey area (OP explained his reasoning just fine) but I do wish the OT tag was understood better, both by some that start threads and some that seem to be offended that WBB or Urban Meyer or the Blimpie Burger situation are all on topic.

for two particular uses.

1)  During the football or basketball season at a time of high traffic on topic discussion.  It is mildy aggravating when there is discussion over a big game and all of the sudden there is a thead titled "Nucky or Walter White - Who is more badass?" with no OT label.  In that case, the poster should have the duty to identify that he is breaking protocol.

2) Any thread posted at any time that has the possibility of being confused with an on topic thread, i.e. the topic "Edwards in more trouble" should be labeled OT if the Edwards in question is John and not Braylon as most would assume due to the nature of the blog.

There should be no need to label something OT during a dead season where the title of the thread speaks for itself as to topic.
