OT - It's Saturday, It's Summer, so what are we drinking tonight?
Spent the past week taking basketball team to Team Camp in 95 degree heat, so ready for a weekend of relaxing. Spent the afternoon at the beach with some Summer Shandy, now at home on the deck for a cool evening with some Fat Tire. What's in your glass?
havent decided yet. Do I want beer or a Gin and Tonic? I have New Holland Michigan Hatter, and Jolly Pumpkin iO Saison in my fridge right now, and also have some Hendricks in my house right now too... choices...choices...
White Hatter is pretty quality on a hot day. I was at Whole Foods and they had bombers of Aged Hatter, Farm Hatter, Black Hatter and Michigan Hatter for I think 4.99. My store ups the prices to like 7ish.
New Holland has my favorite beer in Dragons Milk - I like it more than KBS and its way more available.
Has New Holland been making some good stuff lately? I used to drink their beers all the time when I went to college in Holland, but it's been a while and I haven't kept up with them. It's pretty impressive to hear them being compared to Bell's and Founder's now.
Your milkshake.
Congrats man - guess you're gonna have to change your username huh? jk jk
I am so excited for the Bruery to come to Michigan! Now if only we could get Green Flash, and Troegs...
As a Michigan native it pains me to say its my favorite brewery. Every beer is unique and almost always flawlessly executed. You must try the Sour in the Rye and the White Oak when you get a chance.
Lemonade, 'cause I'm with my 13 year old son tonight, and we're watching Japanese bug fights on YouTube. Praying Mantis vs. giant Asian hornet. Riveting.
My money's on the mantis. I know, I know, the hornet has venom, but I don't care. Mantis just look sweet. Plz update me on the winner.
Mantis, though a worthy opponent, took it in the solar plexus. Hornet wins.
My parents brought down a new beer from Petoskey called Horny Monk, and for the past several hours as the kids have played in the pool we set up outside, we've been enjoying that periodically. Thankfully, my parents brought a goodly amount of it with them from up north.
Supposedly, they manufacture a "Horny Monk" t-shirt, but my mother refused to let my father wear it to a birthday party for some reason.
with grizzly winter green in my lip.
There's a lot of Booyah going here.
New Glarus Spotted Cow - a classic 'round these parts. Had a big week of surgery in the lab, weather couldn't be better. If you can, make sure you sit outside for a bit & enjoy the sunshine.
Another beer I wish we could get in Michigan. New Glarus makes some fantastic beers! Spotted Cow and Fat Squirrel are my favorite
Yeah I can't complain about the microbrew situation over here, although I do miss all the Bell's/Founders/Shorts from home. Fat Squirrel was also one of my faves - I really like to get the New Glarus 12 pack samplers (4 different beers) for my family whenever I come home.
I am drinking good ol water. I have an 11 mile run planned for tomorrow morning.
Keep it up dude. I gave up the longer distances for the rest of the summer after developing some kind of muscle strain/tear, so I'm sticking with 5-10k routes now. As long as I get outside for a bit, I'm happy. Your 10k should seem short next to an 11 mile training.
been drinking summer shandy and playing softball since 11am. I have an amazing tan line on my forehed now from wearing a hat. lol
Eight Point IPA from Devils Backbone. Pretty good on hopefully the last excessively hot night for a few days.
