OT: Incriminating Dez Bryant Video May Exist

Submitted by State Street on

There is a pretty incriminating Dez Bryant video out there, and word has it that it's about to drop soon.  Deadspin is offering to pay for it, and supposedly those with possession of it have been shopping it to other outlets.  Needless to say the content of the video, while unknown, is supposedly very very bad.

Shefter has been working on this story since September: http://www.washingtonpost.com/blogs/early-lead/wp/2015/02/25/espns-adam-schefter-says-hes-been-working-on-a-dez-bryant-video-story-since-september/?wprss=rss_redskins

This will be fascinating to watch play out.

then there was a victim. And innocent people being victimized, especially if it's a physical assault of some kind, is never ok for entertainment.

If it was Dez doing something that would land him in a Keyboard Cat video, that's different. If it's him getting thrown hilariously off a treadmill or something like that, hilarity ensues.

This has been a rumor for awhile, with people saying this would be released today.  They say several screenshots have been sent to media outlets looking to release the video for $$$, yet no one claims to have seen this.  I'm incredibly skeptical, to the point of calling this a baseless rumor.

Say that he knows about what is contained on the video if there wasn't a video. Coaching searches aside, this seems like an issue that a pretty well known reporter would stay far away from if he really didn't know about the video.

That said, what is today's world is really that bad?

Bryant doing hard drugs? Committing some other felony?

Speculation is bad.

There is a huge difference between "I've seen the video" and "I know what is on the video."  Full disclosure I am a Cowboys (and Dez) fan.  But I've heard it is old friends who are claiming they have something and are trying to get paid to release it.  Who knows what they have (or don't have).

I mean, his mom was a hooker. It's not surprising that he'd have some issues adapting to normal society.

Frankly, I only care about his play on the field. Whatever he wants to do off the field is his business.

In most areas of the world, prostitution is part of normal society. I wish it were like that here. In a lot of places normal beautiful girls choose prostitution because it pays well and is very enjoyable.

However, prostitutes in the US are mainly forced to make a living in dark alleys and on street corners while exposed to a variety of drugs. I can't imagine anyone whose sole parental figure was a street prostitute having anywhere close to a normal upbringing.

"In most areas of the world".  This simply isn't true, come on.  I agree with your overall point, I believe it should be legal and the women (or men) offering should receive the full share, without fear of prosecution or falling under a pimp.

But to imply that most of the rest of the world is somehow ahead of the curve on this is silly (assuming you and I have a view that's ahead of the curve - there is a morality argument against legal prositution that's more than just bible thumping), and it's US bashing for no reason.  The rest of the world isn't some wonderful playland of free spirits and really cool soccer teams.   A lot of it sucks hard core balls, and punishments and outcasting on this particular issue are much harsher.

All of Central America: Legal.

All of South America: Legal.

You have to remember, prostitution is the world's oldest profession. Don't allow the Puritan brainwashing to allow you to lose perspective.

Apparently the guy you replied to got banned or at least the comment taken down. I saw it on the app and had to come to reply. It was an insane comment to make. Prostitution is one of the prime arenas for human trafficking. I think a lot of people, mostly men, convince themselves that it's all on the up and up because they wanna do it and the women don't obviously look like they're being coerced or enslaved or scared into compliance.

it makes sense to make prositution illegal. l Human traficking is illegal and dispicable. Too bad resources are wasted on prostitution instead of focuising on the crime.

God gave some the brains to be rocket scientists and others the asses to be strippers and prostitutues. Who are you o deny one from earning a living using their God given talent?

I understand that Deadspin wants to pay for it and get the story.  The part that makes me uncomfortable is that there's someone out there who "knows" (I'm assuming this, he very well may not have done anything wrong) for a fact Dez Bryant did something despicable, but isn't willing to come out with the information unless they get paid.  That seems super shady and super shitty.  If it's something criminal, with a victim or victims, you owe it to those people to come forth.  It's not a matter of getting paid, it's a matter of doing the right fucking thing.
