OT - Georgia in Scared Straight (SEC Shorts)

Submitted by Wally Llama on October 5th, 2022 at 10:34 PM

OK, first let me say that I hate that I like these so much. I feel sooo....dirty. I'm kinda hoping to find a few other folks who share this very, very guilty pleasure of mine.

Second, this can't turn into a weekly, "let's post the latest SEC shorts video" party, so if you enjoy this one just give in and subscribe on YouTube. Every one they've done this year has made me laugh.

Anyway, this week Georgia tries to learn a lesson from their close call at Mizzou:

Why not?  I'm in.

I like college football more than I hate the SEC.

I liked them up until the blasphemy they spewed in their ad for their live show.  They got it half-right saying it is the night before the greatest rivalry in college football.  They just got which rivalry wrong.

Who am I kidding, I still think they are very funny.  I particularly loved the long running Hope gag, until Georgia ruined it by winning it all last year.  If they keep playing like they did against Missouri, she may return, though.

Didn’t love that one honestly - “College Football Miracle Hotline” on Monday was good though, I thought.

LSU - before calling, have you considered letting Auburn self-destruct on their own?

Feel no shame RE: liking SEC Shorts. I love that team. Only annoying part is watching suntanned Herbstreit at the end of all the videos.

For a little background, they are loosely connected with the folks at It's a Southern Thing. Both groups are based in Alabama and I've seen the SEC Shorts guys in It's a Southern Thing YT videos. I'd recommend subscribing to both channels if you don't mind watching Southerners make fun of each other.

These certainly have some good humor.  And, though this is a small point - both UConn and UMass are not Group of Five teams - they are Independents.  Though for the sake of this video, it really doesn't matter.

The SEC still has some extremely challenging OOC games on the schedule this season.  Georgia finishes this season against Georgia Tech.   Bama will still face Austin Peay.  Mississippi State face East Tennessee State.  LSU will host UAB.  A&M will take on UMass.  And, Auburn will face Western Kentucky.

So, the SEC won't only face a gauntlet of Group of Five teams.  They'll also face leading independents and FCS teams too.
