You know I'm not sure but in that commercial it looked like Michael Jordan had a Hitler mustache. Really?

pitt is trying to lose
September 2nd, 2010 at 11:25 PM ^
fwiw, and within restraint, Utah has an attractive water girl
September 2nd, 2010 at 11:27 PM ^
Not within restraint, BAN HIM MODS!
September 2nd, 2010 at 11:27 PM ^
That loss hurt soooooo bad. We were #2 preseason. They were like #20. Went to that game feeling so confident. They rolled us in the 2nd half. Still hurts. Loudest stadium I have ever been in.
September 3rd, 2010 at 2:24 AM ^
I don't think we were #2. I know OSU was the preseason #1 that year. I think we were like #4 or #5. Not that it made it any better to get punked by a Bob Davie ND team. Jim Herrmann, how could you be completely unprepared to face the option?
September 3rd, 2010 at 3:56 AM ^
a decade later.
September 2nd, 2010 at 11:27 PM ^
for both teams combined. also Utah throws on a deep play with 3 mins remaining just to stop the clock for Pitt on 2nd down. ugh.
AND THEN ON 3RD DOWN HE ALMOST RUNS OUT OF BOUNDS. GOOD GOD
AND THEN THEY PUNT TO THE 50 YD LINE. JESUS H

Lions losing 16-14 to the Bills at the start of the 4th after being smoked in the first half
Edit: LOL, Lions get held and give up a "TD" after tipping up a pass for no reason and the guy who gets held is hurt. Amazing
September 2nd, 2010 at 11:54 PM ^
I was at the game, right by the end zone where he was hurt. He was held for a couple seconds and then after the throw somebody from Buffalo rolled over him. It was a huge hit.
September 2nd, 2010 at 11:32 PM ^
Hawaii scores to keep it interesting. Well, at least until their defense gets on the field.
September 2nd, 2010 at 11:34 PM ^
7-6!?
September 2nd, 2010 at 11:36 PM ^
No. 6-3 USC at the moment.
September 2nd, 2010 at 11:32 PM ^
this is gonna go to OT and then Pitt will win. dammit Utah, seriously?
September 2nd, 2010 at 11:34 PM ^
I don't care what the score of this Southern Cal / Hawaii game ends up being, but I am confident in one observation from this game already: Southern Cal is going to have serious problems this year.
September 2nd, 2010 at 11:38 PM ^
That, and Hawaii will make Michigan's pass defense look solid.
September 2nd, 2010 at 11:37 PM ^
Pitt's in range for a long field goal. Everyone over to weird HD.
Edit: 1st and 10 from the 14 with 40 seconds left. Nice finish.
September 2nd, 2010 at 11:39 PM ^
Pitt has gotten lucky with the refs not calling some borderline (albeit well called) groundings
September 2nd, 2010 at 11:37 PM ^
Bob Davie: "There are still some good looking football players down there..."
It must have been very awkward to play for Bob Davie.
September 2nd, 2010 at 11:40 PM ^
Pitt injures their RB on a garbage run. genius.
September 2nd, 2010 at 11:41 PM ^
Lewis is injured?
September 2nd, 2010 at 11:43 PM ^
Looks like it.
September 2nd, 2010 at 11:41 PM ^
24-24
OT
Utah will lose
September 2nd, 2010 at 11:42 PM ^
AND HE MISSED THE SECOND
ARE YOU KIDDING ME?!
September 2nd, 2010 at 11:44 PM ^
So he can make it on the 3rd try. I hate that strategy.
September 2nd, 2010 at 11:44 PM ^
and he made the 3rd
Tie game
stupidest shit ever
September 2nd, 2010 at 11:42 PM ^
USC just blows down the field for another touchdown. I think we have found a defense that is worse that ours was last year. Hawaii's defense sucks.
September 2nd, 2010 at 11:43 PM ^
I'm getting sick of this calling a timeout right before the snap of a kick. I know it's within the rules but it's just so obnoxious. So annoying.
September 2nd, 2010 at 11:45 PM ^
Once is enough. Twice is overboard and should not be allowed.
September 2nd, 2010 at 11:47 PM ^
they would have won.
also... this is the ad next to your comment
September 2nd, 2010 at 11:49 PM ^
good for them
September 2nd, 2010 at 11:53 PM ^
I sill have jitters from Asiata in '08.
September 2nd, 2010 at 11:50 PM ^
the "impartial" (?) sideline down marker was jumping up and down after the INT. awesome.
September 2nd, 2010 at 11:53 PM ^
Even if it is on Versus, I'd love to be able to see this game right now. Mostly just to shut my damn upstairs neighbors up. They have to be Pitt alumns.
September 2nd, 2010 at 11:55 PM ^
It used be that Versus was only useful during hockey playoffs, but apparently I'm going to be forced to watch it now and then on Thursday nights now. I guess I shouldn't complain about having more options for watching college football.
September 2nd, 2010 at 11:59 PM ^
If they can guarantee me I'll watch Pitt lose every week, I'll tune in.
September 2nd, 2010 at 11:57 PM ^
Pitt gave up the game and almost won it still. wow. let's hope UConn plays sloppier
September 2nd, 2010 at 11:58 PM ^
Yeah, Pitt's play tonight was not a shining example of "quality" Big East football. Or maybe it was. I guess we'll see.
September 3rd, 2010 at 12:20 AM ^
Ya, and don't forget the gift turnovers that Utah gave them early in the game.
Pitt really dropped the ball on this one. Utah is a good team and a tough place to play, but Pitt gave them this game from the start.
September 3rd, 2010 at 12:03 AM ^
Bob Davie is making a strong push for USC homer of the year...
September 3rd, 2010 at 12:03 AM ^
So I just switched over to the USC game after Pitt-Utah ended. USC has gone for two-point conversions on all three touchdowns? WTF is up with that? Is Kiffin just being a jackass? I mean, even if they haven't settled on a kicker yet, you'd think this game would be a good time to audition one.
September 3rd, 2010 at 12:11 AM ^
That's what I'm trying to figure out. Going off to find answers on the interwebs--hopefully.
September 3rd, 2010 at 12:17 AM ^
The only thing I can think of so far is that he's found some football equivalent of tempo-free (Pomeroy, etc) stats that say that his expected point gain is higher by going for two every time, much like the theory that says that teams really ought not to punt much.
I'd be surprised if the above were actually true, and I don't think I'd want to give Kiffin the credit for being that "visionary." I'm going to stick with my theory that he's a pompous jackass.
September 3rd, 2010 at 12:20 AM ^
Conquest Chronicles, SBNation's Trojan blog, has a lot of speculation on their open thread. The guess there is that he has exactly zero confidence in the kicker, but I like your theory better.
Maybe Monte is a visionary and told Lane to do it or he wouldn't get any ice cream after the game?
September 3rd, 2010 at 12:29 AM ^
Hahaha, yeah, maybe. The idea that he has zero confidence in his kicker makes this whole situation seem backwards to me. If I had a kicker that needed work, I would think that his would be a perfect time to give it to him. Kick some gimme extra points against a team that you're going to blow out. I mean, if he's afraid to have his kicker attempt an extra point, does that mean they'll never attempt a field goal all season?
My new theory is that they're only carrying one place kicker and he came down with [insert amusing illness] right before/during the game. But that would again be giving Kiffin too much credit towards not being a douchebag, which I'm reluctant to do.
September 3rd, 2010 at 12:14 AM ^
That's just ridiculously classless. Only him and Bob Stoops would stoop that low
September 3rd, 2010 at 12:25 AM ^
My guess is that its another one of Kiffin's ploys to draw attention to his program.
Not that USC needs that right now, but at the beginning of the broadcast the sideline reporter said the Kiffin told her that the violations he committed at Tenn were part of his plan to make the program relevant.
Since violations at USC are not a good idea right not, I'm guessing that he's trying to find other ways to get his program talked about.
September 3rd, 2010 at 12:38 AM ^
Kiffin told her that the violations he committed at Tenn were part of his plan to make the program relevant.
HEAD ASPLODE. HOLY FUCK. HOW DOES HE HAVE A HEAD COACHING JOB?!
September 3rd, 2010 at 12:05 AM ^
Ah, Kiffin. You're going to be soooo popular.
