I've invented the finglonger
For the sake of the Lions' potential this year and fantasy football, I say thank goodness it's (almost) over!
Before you get too excited, the Hall of Fame game is already cancelled.

Do we care? It's just the first pre-season game, we'd still have plenty of pre-season football to tide us over. Also, if the players support it, this would mean 10 years of labor peace, which is pretty nice.
I can't pretend to care. Even after a full offseason, I can't stomach more than about 15 minutes of a preseason game.
Part of the fun is extrapolating wildly based on pre-season games.
"Joey Harrington finished 4 of 5 for 63 yards. SUPER BOWL, BABY..."
Yeah, but that's your 15 minutes. Afterwards it's like, "Walter Walterson, undrafted free agent from Moscow Central, is really having a great 4th quarter! He's got a real shot to be an alternate for the practice squad."
The last time the Lions kicked butt in the pre-season, it worked out great for them.
FOOTBALL IS BACK BABY!!!!! YES! After soooooo long.....yeah....Uhm.....this is starting to suck.....who did they just put in...?....ohhhhh, Wipeout is on....mmmm, Jill...
Why on earth would the NFL think it is the least bit cool to mess up the induction ceremony with a lame exhibition game? Make Hall of Fame weekend about the inductees and leave the shoddy exhibitions for another week.
GO PACK GO!
BEAR DOWN!
LION IN WAIT!!!
Oh, wait....
The 'skins can sign another washed up Quarterback who doesn't fit in their system and another DT who doesn't think he has to practice to be good now that this lockout will be lifted.
Seems like the NFLPA has some gripes about the new deal. Lot of doubt as to whether they will certify it or not.
Just curious....other than Al Davis being batshit crazy/senile, why would/did the Raiders abstain from voting on the deal?
Per the Bay Area SB Nation site:
"The highlight of the owner's vote has to be the final tally. The league voted 31-0 to ratify the proposed settlement. It should surprise absolutely no one that the one team to abstain from the vote was the Oakland Raiders. The Raiders may have some very specific reasons, or it could simply be one more public stand by the always cantankerous Al Davis."
I highly doubt Al Davis has been seen standing in public for years now....
I think it's just because he's batshit crazy.
Maybe Al Davis died before the vote. He didnt look so good in his last pic.
When November rolls around and Davis is still abstaining, will someone at least get a pulse to be absolutely sure that he is merely feeling non-participatory?
He said he thought they were very close to ending the lockout, and talked about getting to camp soon enough.
Heyward is a Steeler now so he is OK in my book. Good to hear he will be in camp.
So, what we're saying here is the lockout is probably NOT over sometime soon.
Could someone post a new thread for me? I want the MGoWorld to know that Michigan Stadium is open for weddings and special events.
You've got 100, you have the power!!!!!!
It was meant to be.
Can we get a countdown until TPryor goes undrafted in the supplemental draft???
Isn't he the only one entered in the supplemental draft? (Not that this would change my agreement that he would go undrafted).
.....he was in fact the only player in the supplemental draft and still went undrafted?
I went to the preseason game between the Arizona Cardinals and the N.Y Giants last year and had a blast. Myself and a group of friends made our way down to the sidelines ( or as close as we could get) from our seats in the upper deck ( thanks to the Wounded Warriors program) Where I spent most of the half either trying to get the attention of Steve Breaston and Gabe Watson or being hypnotized by a Cardinals cheerleader who was coming dangerously close to going full on Janet Jackson wardrobe malfunction during their routine.
I'm deffinately going back up this year to as many games as I can get tickets for! I learned a valuable lesson tho B.Y.O.B $8 drafts and $12 bottles (or was it 10....) got expensive lol.
We're hoping the Wolverines come out to Arizona for a bowl game this year , but if not I'm keeping some cash back for the 2012 opener at Cowboys Stadium. I have'nt seen the Wolverines play in person since Tyrone Wheatly started. That will also be my sons first Michigan game! He somehow became a Notre Dame fan when I was'nt paying attention (he's 7 and loves leprechans... I'll let him slide for now)
Wouldn't that be awful if the Lions finally put together a playoff caliber team, and the lockout kept them from playing?? Just our luck that would happen right??
Am I the only one sick out of my mind that ESPN spends half of Sportscenter talking about the NFL CBA when there is literally NOTHING (CAPS!!!) to talk about? I really don't care what non-news each side is pushing to the media.
Dear ESPN: Tell me when it's over. Give me the details. Until then, show friggin baseball highlights and not a murderer's row of talking heads.
ESPN is not about journalism or news anymore. I'm glad I don't have cable. After the whole Bruce Feldman saga, it's clear where ESPN's loyalties lie: entertainment and drama. And I'm not interested in that when I want my sports news.
