Bummer. Waited all year for playoff hockey that I could watch on TV in Atlanta, and then we only get 5 games.
I hope Lidstrom comes back. With Chipper Jones retiring from the Braves, all sports links to my childhood will officially be severed if Lids bows out too.
One more year!

This could be a very different team next year. No Homer or Stuart. I would be surprised if Hudler is back, Franzen should be on the trading block; it'll be interesting to see how they deal with Helm and Abdelkader, since both are RFA's next year

There's a lot of stupid GM's in the NHL, hopefully someone on a bad team would bait in order to make the playoffs

Time to make myself a very strong drink. I love the NHL playoffs. I hate the NHL playoffs now.

Why do the hockey gods hate the state of Michigan right now? Just couldn't catch any breaks this series it seemed. Not to take anything away from Nashville, but Rinne stole the series. If it was another goalie this series, we might have won in 5 games.

Darn.

Franzen. We needed him to step up in this series and he failed in a big way. Overall, Nashville was the better coached team. They played with urgency and hustle and outworked the Wings on the boards and most of the loose pucks. They were smarter. Unfortunately they reminded of the Wings teams back in the 1997 and 1998 Cup years.
this thread's title was very appropriate.
Very disappointed that the Red Wings were eliminated in the first round. Was hoping to hear some more of Joe Louis breaking out into "Don't Stop Believin' ".
Maybe next year.
