If kobe played all game every game he would get exactly that portion of the teams salary (20%), of course he doesn't but he is much closer...
I wrote a TL;DR response before realizing it can basically come down to this:
Let's say the Wings are good at valuing players and sign contracts that make sense. That means that Lidstrom, Datsyuk and Zetterberg are expected to contribute a combined 30% of the team's production, which is probably a good bargain for management. It's not so much about ice time as it is percentage of production, IMO.
If Kobe scores more than 20% of the points and makes 20% of the defensive plays, he's worth 20% (obviously this isn't how the numbers break down, just making up an example).
Is it just me, but everytime i see Stuart on the ice he gives up or almost gives up a fast break? This guy has had as about a bad post-season as possible.
He's already mentally in California
I thought for the first 3/4 of the season (give or take a few games) he was doing great and then the articles came out that he was more than likely out after this season. I wonder if he has really already told Holland i am done in Detroit. I know the articles stated they wee going to be working on a contract after the season, but this guy has just fucking sucked for the last 30 games or so.
I know it's probably asking a lot, but can we just have Lidstrom stay on the ice for the whole game? Because just about every other time he's not on the ice our defense has so many breakdowns
Does it seem like Nashville stole our (Michigan) goalie jeers? They chant the goalies name, give a you suck, then yell It's all your fault a couple times
Only 17.4% on the PP this post season now
I'm at the point where I'm not even sure I like this team. No heart, no energy, dumbass defensive turnovers. This ain't the same Red Wings and some major changes are looming in the offseason.
zetterberg 1 win, 4 loses
datsyuk 2 wins, 4 loses
And say Quincey was the best you could do with extra cash? Helm has more value to this team and I look at that fat ass sausage on ice # 93 who does nothing, hell at least throw a heavy check. It appears these guys know there wiil be changes next year.
- Gone, Happy Asshole Hudler, Homer, Stewey, Lids
- Trade bait, Quincey for a 6th round pick, Flip, Zets, the fat ass, Conklin 6th round pick..in the AHL, Erickson,
- In...all Griffens apply at J Louie
- Needs...5 Dallas Drakes with heart and soul
How much weed have you been smoking today son? Zetterberg is the next Captain. He's not on the block.
I'm still stunned they got rid of the Big M and broke the last production line up. Then Unger,
Don't even need trade bait really. Wings have a huge amount of cap space heading into one of the bigger free agent summers in recent years: Rick Nash, Zach Parise, Alex Semin, possibly Ryan Suter and Shea Weber. Parise and Semin fit the bill of what we need: goal-scorers.
But yeah, Dallas Drake guys could show this team a thing or two.
Shea Weber is an RFA but yeah otherwise we need a Lidstrom replacement and a goal scorer.
I hope those are on sale at Costco when the Wings go shopping...
/sadface
Wings have a huge amount of cap space heading into one of the bigger free agent summers in recent yearsUnless there is a Lockout. I know Semin was one, and I think a few others too, who only signed small term deals in case of a lockout
We need to get more athletic. It's amazing how fast some of the other teams look in the other games. Our third and fourth line guys aren't that great, Datsyuk needs a scorer who isn't lazy on his wing, Zetterberg should be playing wing and not center (same for Flip), Hudler and Franzen are dead weight. So pissed off right now.
That may have been a penalty, but at least Stuart hasn't completely given up
Howard keeping us in the game.
This looks like a college team playing a junior high team.
Maybe a little, but by the end of last year Rafalski was hurt quite a bit and was a fraction of what he used to be
I don't know that it hurts that much. He was a really skilled player, but injuries took their toll. If you have a healthy Rafalski, great. But he'd probably be injured at this time of year, or playing hurt and not so effective.
Couldn't we have signed Draper to like a one series contract? Put him out there for faceoffs
And what a giant dive by Rinne
I think we miss Helm for faceoffs, too.
No one on this team, let alone the league, can fill all the skill sets as Helm. The kid is fast and is a great defensive forward on the PK.
the real question is can we get a quality shot on goal. Everything is from the outside and 30-40 feet away with no chance of anything happening

Hudler!!!
goal!!!! Hudler!!!
do not have to be pretty to be effective.
Hell yes, Wings.
Theres the break that Redmon was talking about. Lets go boys. Howard has been sensational.
Damn, so close there
Stuart has the worst shot accuracy on net than anyone on the team. Howard could out shoot him.
