Acid are great, and are probably my favorite, but true cigar aficionados don't consider them to be quality cigars, but I don't give a shit.

Rocky Patel has a good line up of cigars from $6 to $15. I smoke the $6 version - they are well packed and burn even. Taste is above mild and below spicy. I generally catch a mild buzz, too.
I used to smoke Avo for many years and find RP a bit better. When I smoked real Cuban cigars, before all the good growers and rollers left, Bolivar was my choice.

My go to is a Macanudo Hyde Park. I also really like Romeo y Julietta Reserve. The new Rocky Patel Catch 22 also great. Connecticut Shade wrapper on all.

If you're looking to try new cigars and not spend a ton of money on an individual cigar, I'd recommend getting a sampler from a club, like Thompsons. You can find a bundle of different high rated cigars for not a lot of money, and find out what suits your particular taste. I enjoy Romeo, Oliva, Padron, Nub, Dunhill, Monte, and the like when I'm shopping domestically. It's also worth noting it's getting progressively easier to import small numbers of cigars. I'd also recommend getting smaller gauges, even if you like a flavor, sometimes puffing through an entire churchill of it will get you pipe drunk and feeling a bit sick when you're first starting out. Doesn't happen to everybody, but it can, and it takes the fun out of relaxing with a good smoke.

Drew Estate Undercrown are a pretty popular go-to that you can find anywhere. Oliva Serie V and Serie O are great, as well.
Best cigar I’ve ever had in the $10-$15 range is the Tabernacle. Good luck finding it anywhere though.
Happy smoking!

Huge fan of the Alec Bradley Presnados. You can get them online for under 10-15 per stick.
For a more mild smoke, I’m all about the Macanudo Cafe Hyde Park. Real nice mid-week smoke.

A few that I love:
My Father - The Judge
Jaime Garcia
Rocky Patel Vintage Connecticut
Quorum 6x60 Maduro (These are very inexpensive and great for the golf course or the yard)

I really enjoy the Macanudo Cafe Court. Smaller cigar and a really good smoke. You can usually find them for around 80 bucks/box of 30.

Nothing wrong with flavored cigars but it is a bit like boxed wine. Great to start with, but as you build your palate you’ll move on.
With all the boutique outfits these days that buy tobacco from the big growers and then make their own you really can’t go wrong. So many great cigars to try compared to 25 years ago when I started in college.
My number one advice is cigarbid.com. Why pay $10-15 when you can get five quality sticks for that price?
Keep Puffing.

Just wanted to say thanks for that site. I'll be using that in the future!
And I'll second on the above suggestion for Undercrown for a good "everyday" cigar at a reasonable price.

Avo No. 2’s are spectacular! Love them!

Oliva cigars are very good and in your price point. I like the Series V, and also the Nub line. The latter look like a gimmick at first, but they are very good cigars and a quality smoke

Most people have my faves covered (Montecristo Whites, Rocky and Patel have a number of great cigars, Avo)
But one I really like as an easy smoke on the golf course is the Aston Symmetry

Drew Estates Java and Java mint are very good. I have tried all the Acid cigars and have not had a bad one.

Padron are killer, even the $12-15 ones. Their higher end cigars are to die for.
for some quality low cost cigars:

i like the Punch Diablo for $8. Good deal.
Best investment if you’re getting into it: high quality cutter. They are super sharp and will make your cigar pull like a champ. Huge difference.

Spend $400 (assuming you are on the East Coast) to fly to Bermuda and smoke all the Cubans you can shake a stick at.

Well first - I'm not fans of Acids or anything around there. Flavored is not for me, but to each their own.
The Liga Privada line from Drew Estate is great, in my opinion, but it is more pricey. The No. 9 is one of my all-time favorite cigars (about $10 give or take), but if you're looking on the cheaper side the Unico Undercrowns are great value ($5-$7). I'd also recommend EP Carrillo short runs, most Illusione (I perfer the Epernay la ferme), RoMa Craft, Padilla '68 (cheap!), and Curivari.
Others have mentioned Padron - and agree those are great, though mostly I but the 1926 which are more expensive.

I've gotten a lot of Gurkhas, which are not overly expensive. I use CigarInternational.com and just look for the weekly or monthly deals. They'll always have sales and I get whatever is on sale since I'm no expert or snob, and I get to try different sticks. If you look at certain times the cigars will come with free humidors, lighters, and/or cutters.
