OT: Breakdancing among 4 new sports added to 2024 Paris Olympics
December 7th, 2020 at 1:07 PM ^
Is Beak Dancing some type of bird dancing?
December 7th, 2020 at 1:16 PM ^
Probably not but live pigeon shooting was once an olympic event which is just as ridiculous.
That and the also scrapped solo synchronized swimming event
December 7th, 2020 at 1:40 PM ^
The Bird is the Word, everyone knows!
December 7th, 2020 at 1:07 PM ^
Finally! My big chance!
December 7th, 2020 at 2:39 PM ^
I'm build more like the men's curlers. Don't think I can be a two sport athlete at that level.
December 7th, 2020 at 3:21 PM ^
Don't give up hope. I'm told by Reliable Sources™ that they'll later add Couch Sitting, Channel Surfing, and Comfort Snacking.

I’m a shoe-in for gold if the ever institute the old midwest game of

One day, as you ascend the platform for your gold, the announcers will regale watchers with tales of your long and intense preparation for the event, known for short as GITSTOSWDOSH-D_BEUSAFNASASABFGDLTMAAMSACETL.
December 7th, 2020 at 5:35 PM ^
That biathalon, however, would be awesome.
December 7th, 2020 at 1:08 PM ^
I'm down to compete at doing the funky chicken
December 7th, 2020 at 1:08 PM ^
I know I'm old but what in the hell is "Beakdancing?"
You kids nowadays. Now you're imitating birds on the dance floor?
December 7th, 2020 at 1:33 PM ^
Come on MGO, you remember this snappy tune....

Beakin' 2: Electric Bird-a-loo
December 7th, 2020 at 1:10 PM ^
All of these sound super entertaining to watch. Love me some obscure Olympic sports
December 7th, 2020 at 1:10 PM ^

Love it. I’m sure South Korea will dominate as per usual.
They took breakdancing to a new level since 2000...
December 7th, 2020 at 1:35 PM ^
HOLY SHIT! If that video doesn't give you a fear of heights, nothing will!
December 7th, 2020 at 4:39 PM ^
Just watching the video, I can feel my testicles trying to crawl up into my stomach from fright.
December 7th, 2020 at 7:21 PM ^
Major sphincter tightening here.
December 7th, 2020 at 1:14 PM ^
Breakdancing, anybody else see this coming in 1983?
I know I did....
December 7th, 2020 at 1:16 PM ^
When will they add competitive eating?
December 7th, 2020 at 1:25 PM ^
I'm down for that. Say what you will, but Joey Chestnut amazes (and disgusts) me every year on July 4.
December 7th, 2020 at 1:17 PM ^
Wait, the Gus Macker tourney is now an olympic sport? And Robbie Hummel in on the US team?

What? Damon Bailey wasn’t available?
December 7th, 2020 at 4:25 PM ^
I seriously don't understand how there isn't a better 3v3 team available among all the washed up NBA and college players
December 7th, 2020 at 1:19 PM ^
Beakdancing = riding the pecker?
December 7th, 2020 at 1:27 PM ^
Lol, well played. I’m sure there is a lot of beak dancing between athletes after hours in Olympic village.
December 7th, 2020 at 1:23 PM ^
How French of them !
Although “Competitive loosing” would be even more appropriate
December 7th, 2020 at 2:45 PM ^
France is the reigning world champion in the world's most popular sport so I don't know about that one.
December 7th, 2020 at 3:39 PM ^
Yep, they are !
And they are also great at making Croissants, Macarons,Éclairs, Madeleines.
And Ohio State is great at college football.
But to me they are all just a bunch of whiny loosers!!!
December 7th, 2020 at 3:57 PM ^
You do realize that without the French the American Revolution would have failed?
December 7th, 2020 at 4:16 PM ^
Yes
I have been reminded of that by every Frenchman i have ever met. And that America is a primitive country compared to the vast 2000 year old history of France.
i don’t give a hoop about what happened 300 years ago. The last 100 years the French have done nothing. There are a living and breathing museum of history. Slowly decaying with the rest of the Western Europe.
December 7th, 2020 at 5:26 PM ^
France won the world's biggest sporting event two years ago, dude.
If your comment is about the military, shit, when's the last time we won a war? Iraq? Afghanistan? Syria? Eh...
December 7th, 2020 at 5:48 PM ^
Philadelphia is in France?
December 8th, 2020 at 8:56 AM ^
The history of "France" is only ~1500 years old anyway in a rough sense (less if you want to actually limit it to a unified French state and not just occupation by various Frankish-speaking peoples).
Now the history of the region known as Gaul is much longer with several defining periods stretching hundreds of years each (with the "France" period being the latest).
December 7th, 2020 at 4:43 PM ^
AND the French Revolution was inspired by the American Revolution. So if anyone has a problem with the French, it's partly our fault.
December 7th, 2020 at 1:23 PM ^
I kinda wish they would have just stuck with the military themed games, the way they were first organized. Too many 'sports' these days. Besides, I've always preferred the Winter Games. Beakdancing would never be allowed in the Winter Games!
Yeah, I'm old, but I'm not as old as MGrowOld. But stay off my lawn anyway!
December 7th, 2020 at 1:26 PM ^
Thank God I hung on to my MC Hammer style parachute pants I wore when I’d go clubbing back in the day.
December 7th, 2020 at 1:52 PM ^
Lol, I had a couple of pairs of Cavaricci's myself.
December 7th, 2020 at 1:30 PM ^
I think pole dancing would be an appropriate addition. Most nations to which I have traveled have ample amateur and professional participants. America would field a strong team, but I wouldn't overlook the Eastern European contingent. And east Asia is right there, too...

USA has some top notch "training facilities" in Vegas to pull from.
December 7th, 2020 at 3:59 PM ^
Don’t sleep on Mexico, Tiajuana also has excellent training facilities
December 7th, 2020 at 1:38 PM ^
Is this a joke, what's next best Tik Tok'er or Twerker?!
December 7th, 2020 at 1:39 PM ^
I'll eat crow if people don't flock to see this.
December 7th, 2020 at 1:44 PM ^
Cue the judges!
December 7th, 2020 at 1:45 PM ^
With all due respect to what the Olympics used to be, the Olympics of today are just silly.
December 7th, 2020 at 1:47 PM ^
FINALLY....a chance to use all the knowledge I picked up from "Breakin'" as a kid....
December 7th, 2020 at 2:00 PM ^
At least softball got back in before this happened.
