OT: Brady can become the new record holder by throwing for 191 more yards than Brees today

Submitted by artds on
Not a small difference, but not insurmountable either.

It will be interesting to see what both teams do given that their respective games today are meaningless, aside from NE maybe being thirsty for revenge against the Bills, given the Bills' surprising OT victory over NE earlier in the season. At any rate, the games today will have no effect on the Pats' and Saints' playoff seedings.

Conventional wisdom says both QB will sit. But if you're Brady, why not tell Bellichick to just let you go in and air it out all game and force Brees to defend his record?

Brady only needs 188 yards today to surpass Dan Marino's old record. If you've come this far and this close, why not go a little further?

...is that you know the NFL is a passing league now when you could potentially face multiple exchanges of the single-season passing record. The transition is officially complete.

As awesome as having Tom Brady holding that record would be, I find it extremely improbable. The numbers that Tom Brady would have to put up would make Texas Tech in 2007 envious.

<br>However, how about the top two quarterbacks in the league being from the B1G... Take that SEC!

With NE needing a win to sew up home field, I expect Brady to get those 188.  Amazing that one of the greatest players in the history of the NFL was a primarily a platoon player at Michigan.

Easy to take it for granted now, but there are three shoo-in NFL Hall of Famers from Michigan playing right now in Brady, Woodson, and Hutchinson.  This will give UM 11 in the HOF, which will surpass ND's 10 and will tie USC's 11 all-time.  Keep going, Jake Long!

Which I am sure has been mentioned a few times in the past was the amount of class that Brady had while dealing with the Drew Henson ordeal while he was here.
