Alums have raised $1.46M thus far, which would keep the program alive for three years.

Kendall Rogers (@KendallRogers) and Jordan Strack (@JordanStrack) have more details on Twitter.

Good to hear.  It also highlights how (relatively) little money is needed to run these non-revenue sports, and why when schools say they have to cut them in order to stay solvent you should question why Scott Loeffler needs over half a million dollars in order to go 3-9.

Hopefully Loeffler can turn it around in BG, at least they beat Toledo last year for the first time since 2009.

You could make an argument BG was one of the better Group of Five programs under Urban Meyer, Dave Clawson and Dino Babers.

Not sure what has happened since 2016, but that Mike Jinks hire was a disaster.

What would help these northern schools out would be to restructure the baseball calendar that Bakich suggested. So much travel costs associated with the first month or two just because it's too cold.

When it was announced, all of the players started talking to other schools.  It will be interesting to see how many will still pull the trigger on a transfer.

It's a shame that someone would try to end their baseball team, after all they've been through including that awful Bowling Green Massacre.
