OT: Auburn RB Michael Dyer to Arkansas State
http://espn.go.com/college-football/story/_/id/7444144/michael-dyer-aub…
One of the top RB's of the 2010 class, and young sensation for Auburn has decided to follow his OC Gus Malzahn to Arkansas State. Chizik suspended him indefinitely before the Chick-Fil-A Bowl for disobeying a undisclosed team rule.
Crazy turn of events for Dyer whose "I WUZ DOWN, NO I WUZN'T" play led to Auburn beating Oregon in the 2011 BCS National Championship Game.

War fucking eagle or what ever stupid thing they say at Auburn. Would love to see it all come crashing down especially after the shady deal with Newton.

They won a NC, were proven not guilty by the NCAA and have had more success than they deserve.

You seriously believe Can was innocent?
January 10th, 2012 at 12:01 AM ^
Could be wrong but what I think he's saying is that it's too late for them to fail because they already got away with the Newton thing in the NCAA's eyes and won a national championship because of it.

This happened, what four days ago?
January 9th, 2012 at 10:30 PM ^
He was released from his scholarship three days ago. AP just broke the story that he was following Malzahn to Auburn.

Yeah but it was kinda obvious to spot. The National Championship MVP transfers to go to Arkansas State? The school where his OC just happened to take a job at?
January 9th, 2012 at 11:46 PM ^
like this article came out three days ago. Sure, it was unoffial, but the Arkansas State players were already welcoming him to the team. So no, the AP didn't "break" any news, they just confirmed what was a forgone conclusion to most.

Maybe contribute instead of critique me when the story hadn't been posted here, or been confirmed yet.
January 10th, 2012 at 12:08 AM ^
and here's your contribution - 247 is reporting he'll file for a medical hardship waiver so he potentially could play right away. I cited the article a few posts down from here.

great, another internet cop....
January 9th, 2012 at 10:34 PM ^
You expect less of Jack Donaghy?
January 9th, 2012 at 11:51 PM ^
I'll contribute instead of criticizing - he is also applying for a medical hardship waiver due to the declining health of a family member, although no one has specified.

Shame points for not watching the GoDaddy.com bowl, where this news story was broken to me and 3 other people watching around the country.

hate to see atheletes downgrad their education in pursuit of more playing time

Your saying Auburn is a better education then Arkansas State? Yeah right.
January 9th, 2012 at 11:07 PM ^
If anything Arkansas State is an upgrade.
January 9th, 2012 at 11:07 PM ^
I don't know much about either I just always asume colleges with State in the name are worse then those without unless it says "tech" or "online/community" instead
January 9th, 2012 at 11:16 PM ^
I can't think of any problems with your State or Online rule though,
January 9th, 2012 at 11:44 PM ^
Georgia Tech is also a better school than Georgia. Georgia State, however, is worse than both.

Ohio St > Ohio.
Other than that there aren't really any, which makes sense considering how the system was pretty much set up with "State" schools as land grant schools. It's actually pretty crazy that a few are really in the same ball park
A few others that are at least in a relative ball park and still pretty good schools (so not looking at LSU and ~50 in many rankings of non-state university) include N. Carolina State and Penn St. You can probably throw MSU in if you want to stretch that a little bit (goes to show the power of the Big Ten in academics). PSU and MSU, both being Land Grant schools, have expanded quite well into institutions beyond their original intention.
January 9th, 2012 at 11:19 PM ^
Yes, that is his saying.
January 10th, 2012 at 12:00 AM ^
You're and than, but that's all I know.

He should rip the sun belt a new one

in no way whatsoever is Arkansas state a better school than Auburn. auburn has been a top 50 public for like 20 years in a row and is 82 overall in USNWR.
