Same thing, I'm wondering if they are now pay sites.
And no notice? Deployed on a Sunday? I think it's more likely to just be a server error.
agreed
ditto
That will be the death of them. In an attempt to nickel and dime people, they will lose the majority of their reader base. As a result, advertisement dollars (which is where they get most of thier money) will go down. Unbelievable! Economics 101.
Nothing worth reading on those rags anyhow
Not since Bob Talbert left
Anybody have any info? It has to be a server error of some kind, even if they are migrating to a pay site.
Albeit intermittently.
It's fixed now.
The Washington Post makes you sign up for an account to access most of their stories online. You don't actually pay anything, but you have to give them a valid email address and they subsequently inundate you with shitty emails. I tell ya folks, the newspapers are goin' in the toilet rabble rabble rabble.
i've had an account with the WaPo and NYT since they started the login thing (we actually had a NYT online subscription when that was in force) and haven't ever gotten anything. LA Times, which I subscribed to in order to continue a story they lured me into with one page (bastards!), however, has inundated me with shitty emails. I'm pretty sure I missed the "leave me the hell alone" option on the form in my haste.
I guess the budget cuts have severely compromised the quality of the crew.
I have no trouble accessing either site. Seem good to me.
