Thanks so much for posting, OP. She was a must-see for 30 years if you’re an opera fan, and it’s awesome to see musicians from Rufus Wainwright to ?love pay tribute to one of our own. Hail!

She had a voice that would make the angels weep. A true diva -- in the best sense of the word.

I guess she can now officially "roll in her grave" about the David Daniels situation......

I was so fortunate to hear her live a few times. Never have I heard a voice (or any other instrument, really) fill every inch of Hill Auditorium the way she could, even if she was singing at a whisper. What an amazing artist.

A true and undeniably beautiful talent. Rest in Peace

She's got to be in the top 5 of all Michigan alumni in terms of achievement in their field. Definitely even with Gerald Ford and Tom Brady.

This is not interesting in the slightest. We graduate thousands of students every year. It's likely there are multiple alumni dying every day. We do not need or want posts about each of them.

I’ve read a post on this blog about vasectomy tips. This woman was in a class of her own in the profession of music - elite of the elite. Frankly much more interesting life than those following the successes of 18-23 year olds.

Wow, seriously? One of the world's greatest voices, and someone who went to school here to boot, who regularly made return visits for performances and to work with students, and this isn't interesting in the slightest? We were lucky to have her as a part of the Michigan community.

Her Schubert's Ave Maria is a must hear at Xmas.
