Open Thread: NCAA Hockey Early Games (MSU vs Union 3pm) (Ferris vs Denver 5:30pm)

Submitted by Fhshockey112002 on

Have at it guys, first game has very little impact unless Michigan meets Union in the National Semi Finals.

The second game starts at 5:30 and the winner advances to face the winner of Michigan/Cornell.

Union vs MSU is on ESPNU but, www.espn3.com has all the coverage

Miami took a too many men penalty that looks like it was called by the linesmen. Enrico slammed his clipboard down and said "Such a bad f**king call! The f**king linesmen!". Humorous

Where is the UM-Cornell game?  Is the start time pushed back due to the Ferris-Denver finish?  Can't find links on ESPN3 or on firstrowsports.eu.

Maybe NCAA hockey wouldn't be relegated to tape delay on ESPNU if it looked like it was a fun atmosphere. I can't imagine it's very interesting thing to watch on TV for an exploring fan is you're watching North Massachusetts State play West Minnesota Tech in front of 100 fans. If people turned on a regional game at Yost, then I bet some people would hang around and watch.

Shameless plug for anyone that wants to follow the game and chat with your fellow fans tonight, I got a live blog going at MichiganHockey.net (and we got a link to a live ESPNU stream that's NOT ESPN3 for those who can't get it!). Come one, come all!

Another checking from behind penalty. 5 minute major and game misconduct. Advantage Miami. Prolly shouldn't have been 5 minutes, Miami guy turned at the last second and it wasn't that hard of a hit

Miami is the kind of team who ia going to toe the line with how aggressive they hit. Once the whistles went away you could see the checks getting higher towards the head.
