Big Mike Onwenu will be making his decision LIVE on the CityballersPodcast Show 2/2 at 8pm EST @OldMoneyMGT

So are we to assume he is not committed to UM?

I had said he would be gone when he visited MSU the first time, and I still think that's likely. I just don't see him setting up an announcement to announce he's going to school where he is already committed. Sure there are morons on Twitter who post ridiculous garbage to recruits, but that's not going to be a reason why he flips. He has already made his decision, and if he flips, that decision was made back when he visited. It just seems odd that he was committed for so long, his parents want him to go to M, and he flips (if that happens).

I actually told you guys this was coming yesterday in one of the other threads. I got hell for it. People want you to tell them what they want to hear. Internally, Michigan has problems with this recruiting mess.  Also, just to let you know, we are trailing Clemson right now for Rashan. There has been alot of negative recruiting ammo swirling around us, and my sources are telling me she is seeing less distractions at Clemson for her son. HAD they picked 2 weeks ago, it would have been Michigan. Now..im not so sure.

Yep. I think we will lose both Onwenu and Gary. There's just too much uncertainty. I will be pleasantly surprised if either one of them come. There has been much negative fodder the last couple weeks and I think the whirlwind of crap is enough to move them elsewhere. It just really sucks.
That said we still have a solid class and will move forward regardless. We will be fine even without both of them. Get a grip...even without these two we have a great class.

Its so funny to read these posts. I am not trolling, nor claim to be an insider. The people I have conversations with are directly connected to Michigan in the recruiting department. Anything can happen between now and thursday morning, but jeez, calm down. This is a forum for reporting information, good or bad. I am on this board constantly but rarely post because most of the time, the "insiders are right on". This particular time, they aren't.

I find the hysteria by the media and fan base with regard to how Michigan is recruiting to be mind blowing. One of the reasons Michigan is being attacked for it actions is not because media find it wrong (they know it's done and don't have a problem with it) it's because Michigan has held this "we are better than that attitude" against the rest of college football and now they have something to pick at.

So if we don't end up with a 'Top 3' class do you kids stop going to UM or something?? Does it effect your grades or do you typically rely on the 247-Sports composite ranking of the M recruiting class to determine your self worth? The whole recruiting game is drama and speculation and weirdo adults who stalk boys. It's all fucking stupid and none of it matters until the kid laces them up for M.

Bleedinblue,

I was friends with a former Michigan player who ran an organization that helped top level recruits. This guy was in the room and on the phone when a particular top offensive lineman would speak to his top 3 schools. He was literally advising/coaching him on the process of selecting the right school and he was a part of every interaction with his top 3. My friend still got it wrong. The school he was positive was that kid's #3 out of 3 two days before signing day was where the kid went on signing day.

I bet your sources in the athletic dept aren't as close to the players in question as my friend was. I bet they don't even know half of what my friend knew about the kids he was advising and there are still many surprises.

You have information from a good source but we still have to wait and see because I have seen better sources than yours get it way wrong.

This is a helpful tidbit and would calm a lot of us down. Crazy that someone that close could get it so wrong. It goes to show that some of these kids can absolutely be persuaded in the last couple days.
Just goes to show what a crapshoot it all is. Just have to remember that the thoughts/feelings of a 17-18 year old are pliable and prone to violent swings and explosions in all directions.

Troll. So you usually don't comment because the insiders are normally correct? And this is a reason you are saying we should trust you you now and not them? That sounds really fucking dumb, random guy on the Internet who just told is insiders are usually right

The homer in me can't understand how someone could choose to not be under the tutelage of Jim Harbaugh if they had the opportunity.

Take a spoiled 'star athlete' who has been given everything all along and then make him work like Harbaugh demands .....it's not for everyone and I think we've all known very skilled and capable people who don't like to be pushed or work very hard. Going to state would be taking the easy way and you can see how some would find that appealing.

I was replying to the comment about how its unthinkable for many that anyone would turn down the chance to play for Harbaugh and I am saying that there are definitely some folks not up to the challenge.  This is not an indictment of the rigors of Dantonio's program nor specific to the current recruit being discussed in the thread.

I'm saying there are people who might be intimidated by Harbaugh's expectations and demands.  And I'm saying that based on all the players who have said as much, both from the NFL and Stanford.

I'd go play for Coach if given that chance and think a lot of bright, hard working recruits feel that way too.

But not every single one of them.

There are obviusly some folks on here pretending to be Michigan fans that are doing anything they can to sabotage our chances of getting a great player and saying things that are out of character for U of M.

Big Fella should know we dont act like that or say horrible things about recruits like that because we know ultimtely its his decision. We want him here with the greatest athletes and thinkers in the world because we know he has something special and we want to help him build his legacy.

On the other hand, the other school only wants to use him and push him out the door when they are done, degree or not. We are a family of progressive thinkers who go on to do great things after football is over.  Harbuagh is a great example of  that.  We have the right coach and . . .

Those who stay will be champions!!!!!
