All Michigan NFL team is pretty good. Haters

LOOK!

Qb: Tom Brady WR: Edwards, Breaston, Toomer, Avant RB: Mike Hart or Chris Perry

I don't think RR will ever have O-line players like these guys.

O-Line: LT Jake Long, LG Steve Hutchinson, C Jonathan Goodwin, RG Maurice Williams, RT Jon Jansen

Other  linemen: Jon Runyan, David Bass, and Jeff Backus

Defense

Its going to be a 3-4 defense!

NT Gabe Watson, DEnds LaMarr Woodley and James Hall

Linebackers: Pierre Woods, David Harris, Larry Foote, and Cato June

other Linebackers: Crable and Burgess

Secondary: Charles Woodson, Leon Hall, Marlin Jackson, and William James(Played at Michiagn but transferred)

Place Kicker would be JayFeely

If we had to punt Tom Brady could do it.

You could've just simply made a list of Michigan players in the NFL, but you had to find a way to bash Rich Rod.  Perhaps you should read Brian's post from yesterday, "Fort Sumter."  He's not interested in bashers and flamers being around, so either start a respectable debate/topic or don't post at all.

Am I wrong in thinking that our NFL lineman won't change as much as everyone is thinking?  I mean, he had to take shitty lineman in WV and turn them into good dudes (Dan Mozes?).  I think with our name, his recruiting skills, and Lord Barwis we will turn out a number of O-Lineman to the NFL.  Sure nobody on this line will go pro, but we WILL have NFL lineman in the future.

This is just a hunch, but I'm betting Jay Feely would be a better punter than, say, Tom Brady.

Anyway, you left out Alan Branch.  And I'd put Ty Law (even though he's currently a free agent) in that secondary before a guy who transferred before he did anything here.  Are we also going to take credit for Ryan Mallett if he turns out to be good?  What about Taylor Mays, since he almost committed here?

Victor Hobson, right? And I agree you can't count William James.  Otherwise we could pick Justin Fargas as our RB.  Which we can't.  We have pretty good depth at QB, too, with Henne and Griese.

You also forgot TE, and we have Mark Campbell (who has stepped up nicely in Shockey's absence) on the Saints.

Better pray for no injuries.

Also, Mike Hart is a 3rd string RB that will never gain more than 400 yards in a season and Chris Perry is bar-none the absolute worst starting running back in the NFL right now.

Timmy B. was doing solid until his foot almost got amputated.

Other than that, I have no idea. My only guess, and it's probably wrong, is that the way we've relied so heavily on guys like A-Train, Perry, etc put a lot of miles on the odometer before they ever hit the League and they just didn't have as much left as other guys.

I've also considered the speed issue. We haven't had many break-away speed backs who could do things like a Barry Sanders. And while we've had strong guys, they weren't powerhouse runners like Jamal Lewis, so we have guys in the middle that never really catch on in the NFL because they are just average.

I guess that could explain the continued employment of Tyrone Wheatley for like a decade despite never having a real breakout season.

Perry might be ok if he didn't break an ankle every year and/or fumble every 5th carry.

The reason why the running backs are good at Michigan is because they have a good o-line to run behind.

Plus look a chris perry's line in Cincy. He had a better line at Michigan.

Mike Hart had Long

A-train ran behind Hutch and Backus.

Bo used to platoon backs a lot, and for a long time people would speculate that this caused a number of them to not be considered for the Heisman.  Bo really did not care for the individual awards.

Gordon Bell, Billy Taylor, Butch Woolfolk, Ron Johnson, Jamie Morris, Tony Boles, and (sort of) Larry Ricks were all terrific backs, but from my recollection, the one that had the best NFL career, Rob Lytle!

I guess I have always thought that the success of the Michigan running game is due to the excellence of the OL, not the backs.  The relative success of Michigan backs versus offensive linemen in the NFL seems to back that up.

Hayden Epstein? I don't know if he still plays or not but he was money for UM

What?  I remember Epstein missing a ton of huge kicks.  The Alabama Orange Bowl (end of regulation), the UCLA road game, the Washington road game, OSU 2001...

His leg strength was incredible, and he made a couple from 55 or so, but he was never all that accurate, and his kicks were blocked several times.
