Who will your favorite team steal at the end of the draft? When will DPJ and Hill go?

my guess is that EGJ is just being sarcastic. i mean, there is some unfortunate truth that the lions are the place that football careers go to die.  would be awesome if they actually turned it around, but isn't it really like lions fans are charlie brown in this:

The history of Lucy's pulling the football away from Charlie Brown ...

Two players from the offense drafted in the first three rounds says all you can say about the team's talent.

Not just DPJ and Lavert Hill, but also hoping to see a majority of Bredeson, Runyan, Onwenu, Hudson, Metellus, Shea, McKeon, and Glasgow get drafted at some point today!

Mgo detectives, please figure out what Jourdan Lewis is tweeting about. He said he’s pissed about DPJ and Lavert sliding because he “knows the real reason”

Is there another college program out there that has former players openly speak ill against the program like Michigan seems to have?

Let's just assume hes not talking about the coaches and their misuse of scheme, when players leave open ended comments like that, it allows the opposition to run with it. The fact that the Richard Sherman crap still comes up is beyond me. Now all the Harbaugh haters are interpreting that vague tweet as Jim sabotaging their careers.

I’ve long wondered why prominent people from the program are willing to take shots at it. Look at Herbie. He dared to voice a reasonable opinion about Pryor and was ran out of Columbus for it, literally. I’m not advocating threats or violence against anyone but the differences are staggering.

This is 100% pure speculation but Sherman and Doug Baldwin swear Harbaugh bad-mouthed them to the NFL because of personality conflicts.
Again, just my two cents, I think Lewis is implying Harbaugh torpedoed DPJ and Hill for any variety of reasons, but I guess you could point to the spat between Zordich and Hill and DPJ being underused and leaving early.

I like Lewis as a player and he's one of the few former players I follow but, well, he does sometimes just come across as your run-of-the-mill fan online.  Some time ago he got really mad UM wasn't recruiting Detroit harder basically because PSU got a couple of kids out of Cass Tech.  Yet historically, UM does a good job recruiting kids from the area (obviously) but sometimes a school just isn't producing a ton of top-level talent.

I'm sure he thinks the staff didn't use those guys properly.  While I don't necessarily think that's true, I can see the argument about DPJ if you feel the offense itself was at fault.  Hill less so since corners were largely allowed to showcase their skills and lots of UM corners have been drafted recently.  Hill just isn't quite at that level, and it's showing.

I tend to believe a recent former Michigan All Big Ten player for Harbaugh over Mgoblog posters.  Obviously he knows the inner workings of Harbaugh’s program, whereas we “fans” know next to nothing about what transpires in Schembechler Hall.  I don’t know what Lewis knows, but he sure seems to have an axe to  grind with the current state of the program.

I'd just like to give TCU some credit for good evaluation of talent. They had four guys go in the first three rounds and -- strictly speaking -- only the best one was (barely) projected to be in that range as a HS senior. Composite ranking is in parentheses:

1-21. Eagles, WR Jalen Reagor (96)
1-31. Vikings, CB Jeff Gladney (1558)
2-40. Texans: DT Ross Blacklock (244)
3-96. Chiefs: OT Lucas Niang (578)

Kinda sucks for DPJ I feel like he should have went to Alabama or somewhere else .. He would have got the coaching and been able to improve over his time there .. He just wasted away here and didn’t improve ...I blame Harbaugh

Couldn’t agree more. That’s problem I have with the Maizen crowd about recruiting better. Yes, everyone in the country wants better recruits. But ask yourself this - why on earth is Michigan so terrible at developing offensive skill players? Honest to goodness, I think the last skill player we had drafted that had any sort of “good” NFL career was Mario Manningham. The last drafted skill player we had that has made the Pro Bowl is Braylon Fucking Edwards! Think about that for a minute. He was drafted 15 years ago!

Jake Fromm 5star qb drafted late. Georgia coaches suck at developing qb’s I guess. What round did JT Barrett get drafted? There are so many factors that go into when a player gets drafted. DPJ was a good receiver but he had some flaws and that’s why he is being drafted so late. Amongst other factors.

Harbaugh needsto go visit Alabama , Clemson ,Oklahoma etc and find out what they eat, drink , how they train, whatever steroids they give them kids .. They are doing something right and we need to steal their blueprint

Harbaugh HAS made changes recently.  He brought in a new strength coach two years ago, he brought in a team nutritionist that they never had before, he brought in Gattis to change the offense. So he is doing things. But it doesn’t matter when the talent level you’re bringing in is not elite hyper-athletic guys.
He has  to sign better playerz.  End of story

Giants were having a good draft, but now the plan seems to be just draft OL and DBs and ignore everything else. The last 2 picks don't really make any sense to me. I hope we trade up to take DPJ though.
