New Year's Day Games Open Thread

Kinda surprised there wasnt one already as there is always good discussion going on about the games on tv Auburn 14, NW End of First NW taking it to them. have had little trouble moving the football. But, 2 INTs....including a that went back 100 yards for a score the other way put them in a hole. They responded, forced a three and out and are the move when the quarter ended. I have NW +9, so I am pulling for the Purple

NW certailny isn't doing the Big Ten any favors so far. I hope you win your bet; if nothing else, it would certainly look better for the BT.

Pat Fitzgerald's team will not lay down, we know that. If they manage to punch a score in before the half here I think we could have an interesting second half. Really anxious for the other 2 B10 games today, I think they'll be good.

The announcers came to the agreement that Kafka is the best QB in the big ten. I haven't seen much of NW this year but that seems off.

as he's been killing the cats. (cue rim shot) I like watching this team, though. Today's just not the Cats' day. You got to like a QB you can nickname K, or The Castle, The Trial, The Metamorphasis ... I wish the back-up was named Chekov or Doestoevsky or some such. Does Junior Hemingway have a brother who could play on the outside for NU? The all lit team! EDIT: Maybe is the Cats' day? TD Cats! DOUBLE EDIT: Tie game. Whoo-wee! TRIPLE EDIT: Fumbled return! Cats' ball!

following in the footsteps of Minnesota last night and just finding ways to self-implode. On a more positive note, how about Mike Leach flat calling out Craig James. Classic.

HPLY CRAP tied game! faked end around to Brewer, throws to a free guy for the tying two point conversion! EDIT: AND AUBURN FUMBLES ON THE KO RETURN! GO NW!

Wildcats! I think that conversion was probably more complicated than it needed to be, but as long as it works. Now don't flipping squib kickoff

or at least you can't overturn it. I wish ESPN weren't spoiling this fantastic game with their incessant pimping of the WVU-Purdue basketball game

Where'd you get that spread? I got 7.5 (and it's gone down to 7). So neddless to say, the missed extra point was...annoying. But looking pretty good right now. :-)

it was 8.5 last night. that was the line i used for the bowl chronicles post. but, it was 9 this morning about an hour before kickoff when I went to be it. I am really glad the +7.5 didnt come back to bite you. Here's to NW!!! the LSU/PSU line was also goofy.....what line do you have that one at? Again.....at sportsbook.com, I am sitting on PSU +1.5 It was PSU favored by a couple the whole way. But, then -1 last night....but all morning action came in on LSU. I got PSU +1.5 when i bet it during halftime of the Aub/NW game, so really just a few minutes before kick. More money still came in on LSU, since it actually closed at LSU -2. Looking at the score of the game, whoa. bizarre

instead of getting more yardage for a shorter field goal, that suggests to me a little lack of faith in your kicker. Which lack of faith appears to be justified. At least NW's punter will no longer be involved in this game

We wouldn't even be at this juncture if that retarded DLineman hadn't grabbed the QB's facemask.. ess eee cee players.. loads of speed.. no brains..

Illegal bat? I've always wondered why offensive players don't just bat the ball out of bounds instead of trying to jump on it. I also don't think that was a catch, he didn't even take a step before it starts getting stripped.

blindly, albeit. But let's see, he cocks his arm behind his head, brings his upper arm forward in a throwing motion, and then extends his forearm and wrist in a throwing motion. Blatant intentional grounding (had he not been down before he threw it), but I can't believe that no one noticed that it was an (ill-advised) attempted throw.
