Trying to defend Harbaughs abrasive, make enemies of everyone behavior. People could say it makes sense if UM was better than everyone else. But he can't even win his own division. Wth that, and Harbaughs arrogance towards everyone else in college football he seems to be digging a deeper and deeper hole. I'm not sure why any coach would do this unless he feels that he cannot compete any other way. I doubt anything he does will be enough. Meyer waxed his ass 42-13, and OSU took their foot off the gas or it would have been worst. Harbaugh will remin second or third in his division until he leaves or is run off. Besides, with his antics it's only a matter of time before UM is hit with sanctions for the shit he his pulling

In season or out of season, I don't give a damn. If they're really going to take this route over a week of spring break, then they need to look at the early season schedules of northern school's softball and baseball teams. This is bullshit.

Remember this: 'The NCAA did not suspend [OSU] the players for the Sugar Bowl because they "did not receive adequate rules education during the time period the violations occurred."'? It's just one example. In 2010, the NCAA skirted actual rules to let players play in a bowl game because they're a horseshit organization. The players didn't know it was prohibited, so it was OK. But now, even if something is not prohibited, it might not be OK. Why have any rules then?

Mark Emmert and the SEC focused this much energy on all the CHEATING going on in the SEC.....this is EXACTLY why people despise Him and the NCAA..nothing but HYPOCRITS

There is a difference. If it is prohibited just go and do it anyway and NCAA would not have the balls to do anything about it because they are such a whimp.

This is exactly par for the course for the NCAA. Let's not look too deep into players medically being cleared when they shouldn't be or investigate the cause of death of an NCAA athlete who died during football practice. Let's stay focused on the student athletes not getting a traditional "spring break" or which one grabbed too many cookies from the buffet. SMH.....

He's absolutely correct in a general sense. In this case, there is strong evidence that a spring break in Florida is in fact awesome. Especially if it's followed by weeks of no football.

However, there are a couple things going on which ARE prohibited and NOT right. He can discuss them when he's conveniently on the phone with the people who are so concerned about another school's students' spring break plans...

I'm calling dickbag here.

Emmert is an SEC guy. Tell his buddies to do it themselves and quit whining. They can hold one at Pioneer for all I care as long as their agenda stops being making Nick Saban's life as easy as possible.

That absolutely better be part of any new regulations. No time spent on athletics whatsoever during finals.

If they really cared that would be their stance.

This is pathetic, even by NCAA standards, which are incredibly low. Said it before and will again, time to name names on which conferences offered inducements to R. Gary.

If they really cared about the kids, they'd: (1) go back to an 11-game schedule; (2) eliminate conference championship games; (3) eliminate all bowl games; (4) eliminate night games (both during the week and weekend); and (5) eliminate spring practice.  And that's just for football.

For basketball, they could: (1) eliminate conference tournaments; (2) cut the NCAA tourney filed to 32 or 16; (3) shorten the number of games by 25%; (4) eliminate tournaments over Thanksgiving weekend; and (5) go back to the old way of hoops games, where all games are on Thursdays & Saturdays, so the kids are guarantied to be in class Mon. - Wed. on travelling weeks & all days on home weeks.
