MSU football boosters under investigation?

Submitted by lhglrkwg on

I was just watching UMD-Union hockey on ESPNU and I swore I saw a little blurb about MSU football suspending immedately while the university investigated a football boosters group. Did anyone else see this or hear anything about something like that?

edit: MSU suspends ties with boosters. big difference

Uncanny that you'd post that.  I think this picture could be used as a quasi-Rorschach Test for youngsters.  Not sure if a kid should go to U of M or MSU? Show them this picture, and then ask the following question (not quite a true Rorschach "projection" test which would call for a fill-in the blank format, but it should be widely administered so multiple choice is the way to go):

Describe the man in the picture (chose the best answer):

A.  A stern disciplinarian who is driven by the success of his scholar-athletes.

B. An air traffic controller in dire need of a laxative.

C. Dreamy

D. Looks like the guy waiting at a red light behind me who honks his horn and waves his fist at me before the light turns green.

Anyone who chooses (A) or (C) should probably not be allowed to apply to Michigan.

They're not being investigated... they're being vetted.

After the rousing success of the Tom Anastos hiring, they're looking for someone else with a tenuous link to coaching to replace Dantonio.  I guess they figure that if a conference official can coach a hockey team, a booster can coach football.

And it seems like the perfect place to leave it.

Statistical evidence (as provided by Google) that the only time the world gives a shit about MSU is when their football players get arrested.

East Lansing & Lansing searches about Michigan Football almost just as often as Ann Arbor.
