MSU's Draymond Green comments on every Big Ten-ish team for ESPN The Mag
Here's what he had to say about UM's basketball team:
Michigan
Don't count them out. Their guys fit Coach Beilein's methodical system.
Here's a link to the article (170 players also voted on who the best coach, best player, etc. are), but you have to be an ESPN insider to view it:

Is this just a nice way of saying he thinks we have a bunch of slow white guys on the team?

who love to chuck up the threes...

Beilein needs to recruit me and George Costanza immediately.
Raindrops!

of a penetrating high riser, like "3rd person guy" Jimmy, who got his hops from the plyometric shoes that later made Kramer look handicapped.

Jimmy likes that idea.

I'll admit that I'm a bandwagon basketball fan. When we were beating UCLA, I turned the game on. One of my roommates asked me who Stu Douglass was. I didn't know and my other roommate said "he's the white 3-point specialist". He then proceded to sink 3 after 3.
So, I agree with your statement.

i don't think that "white 3-point specialist" is really going to narrow it down too much anymore.
November 5th, 2010 at 2:03 PM ^
That's my point. We are a team of 3-point specialists and half of them are white.
November 5th, 2010 at 2:15 PM ^
after last year, I don't think we should really be using the label "specialist" either.

I was not aware Michigan had any bandwagon basketball fans. Very good to know we are moving in the right direction.

Butler has a bunch of slow white guys, and they were a couple plays away from a Natty Title.
November 5th, 2010 at 1:24 PM ^
To be fair, he did say "don't count them out," meaning he has some respect for UM's slow white guys.
It could've been much worse... here's what he had to say about Iowa and Penn state:
Iowa
They brought in Fran McCaffery and need a fresh start.Penn State
Battle, as in Talor Battle. Not a defensive battle.
November 5th, 2010 at 6:13 PM ^
...we basically just pass the ball around for like 32 seconds a possession and chuck up a 3. Last year we were 320th in D1 in adjusted tempo. Very slow. And boring. Sounds like Coach is trying to change that this year.
November 5th, 2010 at 1:44 PM ^
and they can shoot
November 5th, 2010 at 2:21 PM ^
Gritty Grittersons - Yes
"and they can shoot" - ? Not based on last year. This is the year that they have to shoot like Beilein's WVU teams.

That Draymond Green was headed here until MSU sent him a last minute offer. He is as slow as they come but would have been great in Maize and Blue. Also, the demographics of our team are rapidly changing as Hardaway, Horford, Christian, Burke and Brundidge are definitely not slow white guys.

I find it difficult to dislike Green. Smart player, gets a lot of his talent (but might be too much of a tweener for the NBA) and is always insightful and funny in interviews. Too bad he went Green (pun intended).

I don't think he was even considering Michigan Blue when thinking of colleges. He was 100% Kentucky Blue until UK got racist with Tubby and went for Billy "The Drunk" Gillespe.

Who needs Manny and Peedi when you have a "system".
