Mike Martin Draft Party
Great video of Mike Martin's draft party at Conor O'Neills. A wonderful night for one of my favorite players of the past 10 years. Video here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=QviuR9ZxmpI , which I discovered via http://annarbor.com/sports/um-football/former-michigan-football-star-mike-martin-produces-video-of-draft-party/?cmpid=mlive-@mlive-wolverines .
In addition to the sincere happiness evident in Martin's face, his mom's face, and the shared joy of his friends and family, I'm struck by the similarity of his speaking style to President Obama's. (This is not a plug for or against Pres. Obama - MGoBlog's not the place for that, of course.)
Is there a future in politics after Martin's done feasting on QBs and RBs at the next level?
A BIg Ten kid is a Big Ten kid, so I'll root for his career no matter what his alma mater is. He seems like a class act, and I wish him well
Will always be a favorite for his perseverance through a tough transition in the program's history.
You're right, never noticed is voice being so similar to BO's. Inevitably though, he would have to run a fear based campaign, because how do you look at him and not get scared shitless?
GET IN THE CAR. ITS ME. BUY THE CAR. GET IN THE CAR
The resbemblance to the incredible hulk is actually eerie.
They should have put him in The Avengers, since Edward Norton bailed.
Cool to see the excitement firsthand. Congrats again to him. Tear it up in Nashville, Mike!
When a ring looks big on Mike Martin, you know it's a big ass ring. Those Sugar Bowl rings are incredible.
the loot on those rings.
You can see him kinda catch himself after the initial news and realize what had happened for him. Pretty cool to see his highschool coach (Tom Mach) in there too.
I don't care if it's a cliche: that is a Michigan Man.
A class act who will be sorely missed by everyone besides opposing Big Ten centers
I didn't know he was raised by a single mom. No wonder we stole him from EMU!
Anyone know what kind of $$$ he's going to be pulling in as a 3rd round pick under the new labor deal?
Last year, Ryan Mallet (74th overall in the 3rd round) had a base salary of $375,00 with a $646,000 signing bonus.
8 picks later in the 3rd round, would imagine a similar base salary with slightly less guaranteed money (either escalating salary v. signing bonus), depending on the TItan's cap room.

While I feel great for MM the draft day experience for me as a Texan fan was a double edged sword. MM went to the Titans to terrorize my QB's for the next 10 years and I have to root for Posey and Keshawn. Gulp, mmm that's bitter.
