Good hire for them and great to see him take on this new challenge!   Plus I gotta think that having more coaches with Michigan ties in the NFL can only be an advantage for us

Sam (I think) has said that Minter loves himself some Mike Elston.

If Minter wants Elston then Harbaugh will want Elston. And I think what we're learning is Harbaugh is going to get what he wants if money has any say in the matter.

That puts the whole Clint Hurtt thing in a new light, because maybe Moore was looking at who could coach the D-line. But Hurtt's not an option anyway. (I know, people didn't want him. Not the point I'm making here.)

Was only a matter of time.

Hope he translates into running the show.

Maybe he can be next HC at Michigan someday if Moore doesn't work out (hopefully this is a moot point and Moore kills it).

So yeah, even if Harbaugh hadn't gone to LAC my guess is the Ravens would have recalled Minter back to be their new DC.  I guess we'll see how this affects Orr's candidacy as DC at UM since I'm sure he'll be on the list in Baltimore.

To replace Macdonald as defensive coordinator, the Ravens have many options on their current staff to promote.

Assistant head coach and defensive line coach Anthony Weaver, defensive backs coach Dennard Wilson, inside linebackers coach Zachary Orr and defensive pass game coordinator Chris Hewitt are all candidates in Baltimore after interviewing for defensive coordinator positions with other NFL teams this offseason.

Mike Macdonald is the fifth Ravens defensive coordinator to become an NFL head coach. Three of the previous four (Marvin Lewis, '96-01, Rex Ryan, '05-08, & Chuck Pagano, '11) went on to make multiple playoff appearances.
