Mike Hart Sighting

Submitted by ldoublee on
There has been a Mike Hart sighting in the Divisional Playoff game in Indianapolis. He caught a nice pass out of the backfield and made a guy miss and then picked up a 1st down on a tough run. Joseph Addai just went to the locker room with a bum shoulder, so Mike might get some more PT in the 2nd half.

And that's probably the biggest reason that he plays. The guy is just a good, tough, SMART player. As a Michigan and Colts supporter I just love watching the guy succeed. I think the Colts should absolutely use him more in short-yardage situations. Anyway, he made three straight good plays on that TD drive.

Have to admire his tenacity. It looked for a while like he wouldn't stick with the Colts. One of the all-time Wolverines - a great 4 year career.

In fact, Mike Hart, a true Michigan Man is comforting Peyton Manning regarding the Tennessee coaching hiring/firing: Peyton: "Dammit Mike, Dooley...for God's sakes he doesn't even have the reputation as 'up and coming'...Louisiana Tech. Hart: It's okay Peyton, focus man, we got a game to win here. Peyton: "What next? First Phil gets the boot, then this ass clown Kiffin shows up...now we get a C list coach from nowhere. Hart: "Well, he was also athletic director". Peyton (cue emotive music): "Good point there Mike...you know, Mike, I'm glad you joined our team and worked past your injury. You're a great man. I've been wrong all these years about the Woodson Heisman; he did truly deserve it. Hart: "Thanks Peyton".

I was happy to see Mike get a few plays in a playoff game. I've been checking in on the Colts depth chart every once in a while to see how he's doing, and he's listed behind Chad Simpson as the 4th string RB. I don't think Simpson saw the field last night, so Mike's #3. My master plan would be for the Colts to let Addai walk (not unreasonable), and Donald Brown would slide into the starting spot. That would put Mikey as the #2 back, one injury away from starting. A guy can dream, right?

a couple weeks ago that said I thought Mike would score a TD in the Superbowl this year. People laughed, negged me, and yesterday he was used 4 times when the Colts got into the redzone. Just wait for it, this guy's career is just getting started in the pros. They even lined him up at fullback yesterday and he got the 3rd and 1 conversion on the very first drive of the game. Not so silly now, huh bitches?
