“He lay listening to the water drip in the woods. Bedrock, this. The cold and the silence. The ashes of the late world carried on the bleak and temporal winds to and fro in the void. Carried forth and scattered and carried forth again. Everything uncoupled from its shoring. Unsupported in the ashen air. Sustained by a breath, trembling and brief. If only my heart were stone.”

“They lay listening. Can you do it? When the time comes? When the time comes there will be no time. Now is the time. Curse God and die. What if it doesn't fire? It has to fire. What if it doesn't fire? Could you crush that beloved skull with a rock? Is there such a being within you of which you know nothing? Can there be? Hold him in your arms. Just so. The soul is quick. Pull him toward you. Kiss him. Quickly.”

I really feel for the D. I didn't think they would play so good tonight, but I never ever thought the O would lay such a large egg.

It's terrible that the excellent play by the D is being overshadowed by Denard fail. I don't doubt the man's ability to pull out the victory for us still. But damn, this game realistically could be won already...

Notre Dame is only in this as much as Denard is allowing them to be. Because they really haven't moved the ball that well on us.
