I have a feeling one of Bellomy's parents is on here marking anyone's post flamebait who mentions Gardner.

as a one trick pony. Maybe all this time thinking it was DRob, maybe it was DRob making Borges look good all this time.
If a system is good, it really shouldn't matter who steps in. I understand DRob is dynamic and I've done my share of wrecking his terrible passing, but this game has changed my mind that it is more on Borges than it is on DRob.
Terrible in game adjustments and predictable play calling, so much so, a defense torched by most of its opponents is looking like MSU/Alabama/ND
October 27th, 2012 at 11:15 PM ^
Have you seen the OL block? It's hard to scheme an offensive plan when your OL cannot block.
October 27th, 2012 at 11:19 PM ^
run blocking is what really needs to be improved - unless Denard is running the holes aren't there and then the D only has to defend the receivers. Unfortunately Bellomy threw worse than Denard ever has.
October 27th, 2012 at 11:23 PM ^
Don't you think our offensive coaches should be responsible for the regression in the OL? We recognize the positive effects of Mattison and Hoke on the DL and D, yet we give Borges and his crew a pass as we regress further and further on offense. To make sure this post is voted as Flamebait, which all criticism of Borges seems to get, take a look what the Arizona offense (off a 3 win season) did to USC today. Nebraska hasn't allowed fewer than 20 points to a I-A team all year (and that was to an 0-8 team). Because Borges has been a coordinator for a long time (e.g., for Gerry DiNardo -- most people forget), people seem to think he is good. He has never lasted at any stop.
October 27th, 2012 at 11:27 PM ^
They're Michigan Men, and I love them, but Michigan's OL is just not very good this year. They've not been able to run block worth a damn, whereas they did quite well last season. Seems to me that that is just a matter of skill/talent, not coaching.
October 27th, 2012 at 11:25 PM ^
the oline hasn't had much criticism this year but part of the reason Fitz isn't getting going is there is no where for him to go.
October 27th, 2012 at 11:32 PM ^
Borges relied upon DRob's play making capabilities and has been unable to find ways to generate offense apart from his legs and arm punts.
So, tonight, the inability to have any offense come from any other player than DRob is a further tell to the play calling of Borges.

I hope to be able to work from home Monday. The combo of Michigan losing and Notre Dame beating Oklahoma is going to make work on Monday un-doable!
As much as it pains me.....ND is legit. They play legitimate defense and their offense just doesn't beat themselves.
GO BLUE....BEAT MINNESOTA!

Borges has never made it to year 5. Would love if Hoke cut the slow bleed short, but he'll probably not make the move any earlier. The question is whether Brandon opens the checkbook and is open to bringing in someone who is not a "Michigan Man."

Was fun all. #nolube.
October 27th, 2012 at 11:16 PM ^
than one questionfor Hoke's entire press conference?
October 27th, 2012 at 11:16 PM ^
Is anyone surprised by Hoke's offense? For better or worse we are back to Michigan football -- above average defense and conservative offense. Dave Brandon is ok with going 9-3 every year or he would have did whatever it took to get Harbaugh.
October 27th, 2012 at 11:20 PM ^
Good god! Will you fucking snowflakes PLEASE shut the fuck up. We lost our star QB, you know, the guy that is basically our ENTIRE OFFENSE. What the fuck do you expect?!? Now Hoke sucks, as does Brandon because he didn't get Harbaugh, fire Borges, fuck fire Mary Sue. You guys a fucking pathetic. It's a loss to Nebraska, in Lincoln, at night with Denard out for the majority of the game.
GROW A PAIR!
October 27th, 2012 at 11:29 PM ^
Or is that just your cool internet persona?
October 27th, 2012 at 11:32 PM ^
And what did you see with Denard in that would suggest to you we would even put 20 points on Nebraska, like the 0-8 Southern Miss team did earlier this year (the worst offensive showing against Nebraksa before our West Coast Offense came calling)?
Anyone who has looked at his history realizes that Borges is the weak link in the hiring we did post-RR. Why is Mattison the highest paid coordinator in the Big Ten? He's excellent, and good programs want him. Why has Borges never lasted long at any stop, with a move from the SEC to unemployment for a year to the Mountain West? They are who we thought they were

i love drob, but yes i will be glad when we are back to a pro style qb.
October 27th, 2012 at 11:23 PM ^
but it better not be a cinder block footed one that couldn't escape a wet paper bag when the line breaks down. There are very few successful QB's like that in todays game without an Alabama defense. Most elite college QB's can move at least a little so I hope that's what Michgan wants.

On the bright side, we haven't scored a TD in two weeks and we still went 1-1.
Honestly, that is the best spin that I can come up with for this one.
