Michigan prospects for 2010 NFL draft via National Football Post
http://www.nationalfootballpost.com/2009-Scouting-Series-Michigan.html
The subject of which Michigan players are true NFL prospects has been posted a few times on this board over the last six months. Wes Bunting at National Football Post has been evaluating every FCS team for potential prospects for the 2010 NFL draft. (For those that aren't familiar with NFP, it's a site created by a group of former and current NFL execs, agents and players.) Today, he finally hit Michigan. [Note: these guys are just draft eligible, so some juniors who are just not coming out early are mentioned.] Some points of interest:
-- He doesn't love Brandon Minor as much as we do, although the review is based on last season, obviously, and not on the fact that his offensive line was young and inexperienced and will not be so much this season.
-- He evaluates Schilling as a potential "solid all-around" left tackle in the NFL, which is interesting considering I don't think he's ever played left tackle here.
-- The last line is the understatement of the millennium.

I think he's really headed for a major breakout kind of season, especially with all the touches he'll get due to the fact we have a true freshman under center.
A few comments...
I'm a little higher on Graham.
I'm still waiting to see why everyone loves Warren so much, he didn't look like an NFL started to me last year.
McAvoy getting a better writeup than Mooseman was interesting. I thought Moose was going to start and McAvoy was getting buried in the depth chart.
Beyond that, I pretty much agree with the evaluations.
Who on the defense DID look much like an NFL player last year?
I thought the same thing about the Moosman/McAvoy thing. I think McAvoy's evaluation was somewhat inflated based on his size. NFL teams will often take late round chances on guys with "NFL size."
Wasn't Warren playing hurt much of last year with some sort of leg injury?
Ankle injury, IIRC. Not sure if this is true, but I've heard some chatter that Warren doesn't really likes school and will bolt immediately to NFL if he has a good season. Feel free to debunk if false.
Lol. Poor Stevie.
Graham could be easily be a first or second round draft pick if he has a double digit sack year in 2009.
Its not inconceivable that Graham falls to the third round of the draft. His height (only 6'1") will be a concern for some teams. I know the temptation will be there for us to compare him to one LaMarr Woodley, but, I'm not sure that he has the same burst or quickness that Woodley does.
I'm surprised by how seldom Brandon Graham shows up in pre-season All America lists and first round draft projections. He was a monster last year and he almost ran down Javon Ringer from behind, so you know the guy is ridiculously gifted.
That guy is ridiculously low on Brandon Graham. His description of not having a good first step and not being capable of being a good pass rusher at the next level is not really accurate imo. His quickness and first step is one of his strenghts. I see him as a Robert Mathis type...not going to kill you with his size but certainly capable of 7-9 sacks per year at the next level in the right system.
Interesting that Carlos Brown is not rated. If he stays healthy he is a sleeper to play at the next level...
anyone who doubts Grahams athletic ability needs to check out his 'floor routine' that he did which they posted over on the UM website. He is ridiculously nimble for his size.
