The quality of the video was terrible, but his play sure wasn't.  You didn't need an arrow pointing him out, since he was so much bigger than the other players.  He moves really well for his size.  Looks like a very promising recruit.  The only caveat is that the level of competition didn't look that great.

I like Van Dort as a tackle or a guard, but I don't think he'll play tight end at the next level.  I see him more as an OG right now.  He looks like a good prospect, but the position change might affect his ratings.  He probably hasn't had much work on pass protection.

I would throw in Carl Fuller (LB, Detroit King) to your top ten players.  Otherwise, I think your list is pretty solid at this point.

Leaders And Best

1. Malik McDowell (offers from everyone)

2. Damon Webb (Michigan, OSU, MSU) -- supposedly dominated at Ohio camp yesterday

3. Drake Harris (Michigan, ND, MSU, Florida)

I think there is a dropoff after those 3 to the next tier like you have predicted and probably too early to sort them out until their Junior year completed.  Others with BCS offers:

Deon Drake (Syracuse, Cincinnati, Pittsburgh)

Chance Stewart (Wisconsin)

Carl Fuller (Syracuse)

Tommy Doles (Michigan)

Connor Hayes (Indiana)

He looks very mobile and has that mean streak the coaches love.  Listed as 6'5" 250, but  I'm guessing that he showed up at camp larger than that with the frame to add good weight.  As with Channing gotta be happy with a kid who has been srcutinized by the coaches for three solid days.... and maybe he helps us with Harris?

I am almost certain that he is the son of  WOOD TV 8 (Grand Rapids/NBC) sports reporter Jack Doles.  I don't know the dad's side, but mom's side of the family are quality people.

This is fun to see really talented kids come out of there. When I attended (graduated 2001) we were terrible at football! We have a new coach imported from California. It is rumored that the DeVos family (runs GR) gave him a really cushy 'job' somewhere that pays the bills so he can focus on coaching. Fine with me!

Not sure where you're getting this info regarding "recruiting", but none the less Tommy is a very talented, hard working kid who we are all glad to see get this type of offer. His frame will absolutely allow for more weight. He plays with a mean streak and is a great finisher as you can see from his tape. Even more impressive when you watch an entire game film, is his consistency. In terms of technique he is very sound and plays like a senior in that regard. I work with Tommy extensively as I am an assistant coach at GRC. Looking forward to his growth over the next 2 seasons.

I'm an '07 grad of GR Christian, absolutely not surprised to see others lurking on these boards. I don't know if it's so much recruiting as the youth football program that's making a massive difference in the quality of the football team. On the flip side though, I think it's having a pretty big impact on the soccer team. They used to win championships in the late 90s in soccer but now all the good athletes are playing the foosball. Cool to see them with some athletes recruited by Michigan though, I agree about that.
