Ive gotta say, just watching Denard, but not only him, everyone, they wanted it, they were so hungry, but you could obviously tell by just watching Denard go hard on every run. Another thing I liked was that you could tell we were playing around with our snap count. I counted atleast 5-10 times where they had atleast one defensive linemen jump a bit early, and then we would snap it as he was settling back into his stance. I think we actually faked them out so bad once that they started doing a stunt, and then we snapped the ball when they had all 4 linemen standing up between our guards lol. (either they started their stunt early or they were caught flipping their linemen to our lines strong side) Either way, offensively we wanted it, and I cant wait for the bowl game/next year.

that NOT a TD ? I have been looking for a replay, and having looked at it F + R I can't see how that's not a score. To say there's enough there overturn the ruling of touchdown on the field is more than outrageous. What if tosu had scored on that last drive ?

Spielman talking about "destiny" maybe being on OSU's side five minutes into the game because they scored the first touchdown.

Did anyone else notice how that d-bag Spielman kept talking shit the whole game. But when Avery got the pick at the end he didn't have anything to say. He was probably curled up in the corner crying like a baby.

In the afterglow of watching these highlights, allow me to make a humble and quarter-hearted defense of Chris Spielman.
It is this: imagine yourself in the booth, trying to remain as neutral as possible about what was going on on the field. Now compare that to the neutrality displayed by Spielman.
At least against Counterfactual El Jeffe, he wins by 937 neutralities. I think he's kind of a meathead, but he did a pretty good job IME in this game.

I think CS does a fine job and is a very good commentator. However I do not want him or Robert Smith or Herbstriet anywhere near the broadcast booth during any Michigan game and especially THE GAME.
The Nebraska game in particular when he made mention of 2,962 days since we last beat Ohio was offensive considering his position.
Brian Griese is also a damn fine commentator how about we put him and Desmond in a booth for THE GAME and see how that flies down south.

I agree totally. All I heard all day was Spielman talking about OSU, number of days, Urban Meyer, Urban Meyer's coaching staff, OSU feeling like they can beat UM no matter what...
When Spielman sticks to the ON FIELD story and breaks down plays I think he is very good. He makes some analysis and reads of plays that I don't see other announcers make. To your point HAIL, he should NOT be involved in this game because of the bias and the bias that is obvious to all. He should be someone they have do other games as he IS better than most at providing content.
I am glad we won because it would have made me sick to have to hear all that crap during the game and then have it be validated by OSU winning. Thank you Brady Hoke and the UM team.
On a side note, we were watching the Manchester United game just before the kickoff. The announcers reminded me how much more fun it is to listen to European sports commentators than the sanitized US version. So much so that my wife said, "I just wish we could have the soccer guys call the game" multiple times through the broadcast.

Love the replays!!! I like getting to go back and SORT OF break down the film. As said in prior threads, it would be so much more fun to have the full 11 player view of course.
I am glad we won and I love what Denard brings to the table but it seems this year he has regressed on his decision making when he has the option. There have been many weeks where I would make ARRRGGGGHHH noises when watching his reads and this week was no different.
Here are items I found. in almost all cases, he gives to the back instead of keeping which I get from a pounding standpoint but the read is the read and we had a lot of big plays that didn't happen this year because of it. It makes it worse for me because he follows the plays I mention with keepers that he makes GREAT runs on so it is just selfish of me to want to see the Denard of last year that would EXPLODE at opportunities to gallop.
2:35-Hand off, faked the wheel pass. TOTALLY should have made the pass, it was soooo there for a huge play and he is looking right at it. This however is one of those where not seeing the full 11 might mean there was a corner spying the pass but it looks like the corner was locked up with the receiver and should have gone BIG
3:13-Hand off, should have kept
6:03-Ditto
6:50-Couldn't read my note, just says Touissant but now I remember. Doesn't belong in the list but Touissant makes a totally Barry Sanders SICK cut move on the OSU defender, just straight jukes him to the left and then accelerates past him.
7:30-Again
8:26-Good play but DR just plows into the pile when an easy cut back to the middle collapses the safety in the pile and he is GONE
9:23-Walks into the end zone if he keeps I think
In reviewing those plays I noticed how really great of a job our TE does on engaging the play side defender giving Denard the choice to turn up or go wide. Also our WRs do a good job of moving into space and setting up blocks.
I am certainly happy with the results and I agree with commentary about the emphasis on getting the ball out of DR's hands to lessen hits. So I get that.
It also seems to me that this year they have been coached to make runs stay inside with the possible reasonong that it reduced those holding calls where a defender would try to shake free in space and a TE or WR or pulling G would hold. Nothing to back that up but a feeling as it seemed we didn't have many of those penalties and the backs and DR seemed to fairly consistently cut the ball to the inside versus bouncing.
