Michigan needs Indiana to beat Wisconsin
I am concerned that if Wisconsin beats Indiana to reach the BTT final or wins the whole thing, the Badgers could get a higher seed than Michigan. This could then bump the Wolverines from Auburn Hills and send Michigan off to Austin or San Jose or someplace. So, I will be rooting for the Hoosiers to beat Wisconsin tomorrow.
Not if they beat Michigan, Indiana, and MSU or OSU back to back to back.
Right now, Indiana, Gonzaga, Duke, Miami (FL), Georegetown, Louisville, and Kansas will be seeded higher. It's looking like Florida, Sparty, New Mexico, and OSU will be too. That leaves 1 more 3-seed open. We used to root against these teams so Michigan could get a higher seed, now we need to root for them so teams like Syracuse, Kansas St, and yes, even Wisconsin don't jump us.
If the team doesn't start playing better D, boxing out, and making some FTs it is not going to matter what seed they get.

Why will be anything below a 3 seed? I thought common knowlege was that we were a 3 seed regardless unless we lost to PSU.
It would be a big win for Wisconsin.
beat them by 15.
I'm much more concerned with who the other teams are in our region than our seed.If we get bumped out of the Auburn Hills site we will likely go out West where teams like Gonzaga,Ariz will be,an easier group imo The least of worries is our seed,of more importance is the way we have been playing lately.

We had 3 more losses and played an easier SOS last year and were a 4 seed. We should easily be a 3.
Michigan actually needs to quit playing like a pile of uninspired dog crap.
It's not clear if the pod system would slot UW in Auburn Hills. Dayton, OH is another venue and it's almost exactly the same distance away from Madison.
You would think Ohio and Indiana would have priority on Dayton. They are higher seeds and closer.
Edit: nevermind, posted in wrong place.
Syracuse just beat Georgetown. That's good news.
Iowa up on MSU early. An Iowa win could punch their ticket and of course would also be good for us.
How is this good news? Georegetown is already going to be a higher seed and now this opens the door for Syracuse to be too.
What makes G'Town a lock to be seeded above us?
They were borderline 1/2 and we were on the 2/3 border. Same record, but they have a higher RPI and are 11-1 in their last 12.

They have lost twice since Jan21. They have only lost to one unranked team (Nova). You could make a case they are one of the hottest teams in America. Michigan, to put it mildy, isn't just limping into the post season. They are in a wheelchair.
they are playing like an 8-9 seed.
they need to improve to win more than 1 game regardless of seeding or region. otherwise, watching them lose in auburn hlls will not be that much fun.
It's all my fault...I didn't watch the IU or Wisky games today - but did watch the PSU game...two losses when I didn't watch, and a win when I did. I will take the blame for this one.
I promise-promise to watch them in the NCAA Tourney.
is almost as sweet as a Mich win for me,a Sparty loss,a ND loss and a few more beers and I'll be fine

I honestly think we're a long shot to make the Sweet 16 no matter where we're seeded.
If we're in Auburn Hills, I still like our chances. Think about how we've played at home this year.
If we're elsewhere, all bets are off.
Auburn Hills will be the home court advantage many think it will be.7 other teams fans will be there (including Sparty) and they will mostly be rooted against us

All the fanbases are not going to be there at all times. The games are staggered. Unless U-M and MSU play back-to-back, there aren't going to be that many rival fans watching each others' games. Even if you absolutely hate MSU's guts, would you go to their game if it were on six hours before the Michigan game?
What will probably happen is that we'll play in front of like 10-12,000 U-M fans, a smattering of the opposition's fans, and several thousand empty seats.
would be a dangerous matchup for us because they pound it inside and have some good off. rebounders ( I really hated saying that but it's true)

I want this team to play hard and play to their potential, then I'll be happy win or lose.
are 2 tough white dudes (kinda like veteran McGary's) and Grant a good shooter
Wiscy has 10 losses. They will not be seeded above us.
At this point does it really matter?
we need to take care of our own destiny. One more game and it could be over. Spring football here we come.

That was a bad lose, both in isolation and in light if our obvious deficiencies which every decent coach is able to exploit.

if Michigan continues to play this way, I think we'll find ourselves heading home after the first weekend regardless of seed

Well, that's a nice thought but we can't do that now.
