Michigan mens basketball vs. Illinois open thread
McGary, Horford, and Max had a ton of rebounds and deflections go off their hands, or get ripped out by bringing the ball down. Mitch has strong hands, but he's jittery as hell.
According to that shot, Illinois has at least 14 retired numbers.
ILLINOIS HAVE SOME STANDARDS!
CoE Class of 2007
how do you wait 53 years to retire a player's jersey? he's finally worthy after 53 years?

Have they updated us on Morgan's status?

Illinois has an interesting offensive gameplan. It's some kind of 3 man weave, dribble handoff, sprint around the 3 point line until somebody gets daylight and jacks a 3. I'll be very disappointed if that strategy beats us.
Per the tweet above it sounds like he could come back if needed, but hopefully they'll just rest him

I'm lovin the energy they got going on in the first half. Usually slow out of the blocks in the first 20 min...I'm encouraged for the second half.
Hey, anyone heard anything about this Green kid out of Virginia? What's his deal?

Also like the Horford start.

That is because we don't foul that much. These announcers need to read Mgoblog's writeups.

I'm late to the party, didn't get to watch the first half. Did I miss anything important besides Morgans ankle?
Score looks great, time to pull away quickly to start the second half.
This begins the foul fest.
If I tell you it's Easter, you better start looking for eggs.
Some folks call it a sling blade, I call it a kaiser blade.
The officials want to play too.
Should we point instead of fist pump during the Victors?
Foul feat? How many if those have we had this year? 0 I think. Don't worry.
I think that was a terrible call... hands all straight up in the air... Did I miss the foul?
HAIL.
Stauskas is so versatile. Elite shooter, really good athlete and has an underrated ability to get to the rack. What a great find by Beilein
I got the shotgun. You got the briefcase. It's all in the game though, right?
Which is why it bothers me so much that he struggles so much on defense...he's got the athleticism to be an average defender.

Is that really a foul? What did Horford do wrong there? It looked like he was straight up and down.

Can we get a rebound, please?

If that Richardson shot had gone in I would've been done for the night.
Denard has spent the offseason working really hard and smiling at people.
I don't know if it's the overexcited announcers or the ridiculous crowd noise, but why do I feel like I'm watching the last two minutes of the title game?
Trey...stop the fucking iso
"Welllllllll..."
Jeez.

I love having a big guy with hands like McGary!
"They will meet a dastardly fate here for that! There isn't a Michigan Man who wouldn't like go out and scalp those Buckeyes right now."
Has Illinois had a possession without drawing a foul from us?
HAIL.
They are calling everything this half, geesh.
