Michigan honored before Tigers-Royals game played in Omaha
For the first time ever, an MLB game is being played at the site of the College World Series in Omaha.
It just so happens to be the Tigers going against the Royals.
Before the game they paraded all 8 College World Series teams out to their respective fight songs. Michigan BY FAR got the biggest cheer from the crowd.
There’s No Place Like Home Plate,,,,
Go Blue!
That's great! Go Blue!
SPACE BITCHES SPACE
I dunno, it just seemed to fit.
It always fits. Even at a funeral.
Glad to hear they got the biggest cheers! All week on talk radio (SiriusXM), all they've talked about is what a great story Auburn is because of the death the program experienced this season. About Texas A&M because they came so close last year. About FSU because their coach has the most wins ever and has never won it all in 40 years. About the SEC teams because SEC.
Not one peep about Michigan, other than including them as part of the field.
I really hope Michigan makes a lot of noise...
I’ve heard a ton of good things about UM all week on 84 Espnu on Sirius.
That's what I've listened to, and haven't heard a peep! Of course, I only get half an hour in the morning, and an hour, or so, in the afternoon. So I could have missed a lot...
As I watch this game*, I just saw Miguel Cabrera do it again...he checks his swing and then HE points to the ump at first. Why does he do this? Normally, this is done by the catcher to get a called strike, but he does it himself. Makes no sense.
* watching the game is tough, it is hampered by technical difficulties. First they lost the feed, then got video back with the ESPN studio doing play by play. Not good.
Miguel is doing this to take control and become the initiator. Normally a batter looks passive when the catcher or ump does it first. He’s saying, I didn’t swing and now you will validate that.
Hijacking the thread with some scary news if you're a Tigers fan. Casey Mize was just pulled from his start tonight with some sort of injury....hope It's something minor!
Still waiting for a national sporting new agency to acknowledge that Tommy Henry wasn't just feeling under the weather, he was battling through a bout of pneumonia when he beat UCLA to secure Michigan's place in the CWS.
I get it, the wrong team won so the courage and heroics be damned.
I listen to most tigers games, better than watching, and Jim and Dan have talked about UM all week. And Dan was talking about Henry just now actually....
I don't know whether to applaud you or console you for being a glutton for punishment. In any case, a local broadcast crew for one of the worst teams in MLB is hardly national news.
It isn't often that Dan Dickerson gets an opportunity to talk about a winning baseball team...
The Tigers could not win CWS....
Going to be a lot of Michigan fans in Omaha.
