Proud season ticket holder here that was at every game last year and will be at every home game in the future.

As has been pointed out numerous times, the 2020 recruiting class is going to be mission critical for Howard and the staff.  It's going to be a lot easier to sell a kid on the program while standing in a full arena, than asking them to take the leap of faith.
The ticket sales info is awesome news and happening at the perfect time.

Great to see the BBall program getting the support it has earned in the last decade... hoping Coach Howard gets a fair shot to institute his system before the crowd begins to judge him...

I think Howard has changed the tide on the Basketball Program. Hell people in Ohio are starting to believe him. Never in a million years I would have thought that. Selling Michigan jerseys is a good start.

Feels like the wraps are finally off the program. No guarantee of success, but as much as we appreciated coach B and his success, it always felt like there was a talent cap on the program. Program can build off his success and now add some flare.

Talent gap compared to who - Duke, Kentucky, Kansas, UNC?  JB got a lot of criticism for some of his recruiting but he had a good amount of 4 stars and he was/is one of the best developers of talent in the game.  Over the second half of his tenure I don't think there were too many games where UM was clearly at a talent disadvantage.  Heck, over the second half/final 2/3 of his tenure UM was probably one of top 10, if not pushing top 5, producers of NBA draft picks.

That’s really amazing. This message is to all the assholes who say there are no Michigan basketball fans. Now it’s up to Juwan and the team to give us a decent season to keep the excitement going. He has the support of the fan base. Now he just needs to bring in the wins and the banners! Go Blue!

We gonna Shock the World.

We beat izzoff "the shame of iron mountain" - all will be right in our basketball world.

It's a NEW DAY DAWNING.

Win the Game!

Go Blue!

I’m having a hard time wrapping my head around this. I’m assuming it’s mostly fair weather / bandwagon fans that have no idea how good the basketball has been the last decade or so. Oh a familiar name! Must be good! Or something.

That would be nice.  But I don't see the AD moving people like Al Glick up to the upper bowl so the students can take over by the court.  In fact, I don't see the AD moving any season ticket holder out of a seat to make more space for a student section.

The Maize Rage is great, but it could (should?) start in row 3 or 4 and envelop the entire court, as high up in the lower bowl as it needs to go.  You have enough money for those first few rows?  Great, sit in them or the students get to move down.

(I say these big words from Virginia, a location from which I will purchase exactly zero season tickets.  So there's that...)

I understand that it most likely won't happen, but I wish the administration would understand the power of the student section. Look at other top student sections (Cameron Crazies, and unfortunately, the izzone), and you can immediately see what impact they provide. At some point they had to piss off their season ticket holders, and it has seemed to work out for them.

I'll put my cynical hat on for a minute.

I'm a season ticket holder too.  I can't make it to every game, but I try to make sure my tickets are always used.  It never ceases to amaze me how many empty seats there are in the lower bowl.  It is also surprising to me because of the distinction between live football and basketball.  I'm pretty die-hard when it comes to attending Michigan football in person.  But if I'm honest, the game experience in basketball live is better than football.  Football begs to be watched on a giant screen at home with replays, snacks, bathrooms, and beverages all available on your own schedule.  On the other hand, you're much closer to the game and the players in basketball and you get a better feel for the game when you're there, in my opinion.

That cynical part of me says there are simply too many season ticket holders that can afford to buy the season and only attend when it's convenient.  I haven't heard a good solution for this problem yet.  The idea of making the seat licenses (or game tickets) more expensive, just creates more separation between those who struggle with the affordability already and those that can just buy their way into good seats available on their schedule.

I guess the answer is to make the team so compelling that every game is a "must attend" event.

I agree with you on the overall viewing experience. Love the excitement of football but prefer the basketball game experience.

I’ve had season tickets for over ten years. The reality is that I can’t get to every game and can’t always find someone to use the tickets. Weekday games are a challenge.

But that doesn’t mean I shouldn’t be able to buy my tickets and use them as I wish and when I’m able to do so.

Maybe the university should set up set up an app where you can post the tickets and someone can get them for free?  I’ve put tickets in stubhub only to see them go unsold.
