A good season ends for M losing 2 of 3 at Neb. Final record: 27-17. Wolverines finish 3rd in the B10 behind Maryland and champ Neb.

It's expected that M will receive a 2 seed on Monday for the NCAA tourney. Location obvly TBD, but ND will likely host a regional as a top 15ish team, so a short trip to SB could be in the cards.

No matter what happens the amazing run of the 2019 team was awesome! A team from up north getting to the National Championship best of 3 against a powerhouse in Vanderbilt and coming within one game of winning it all was one of the best underdog stories I’ve watched in sports and I’ve been watching since 1969, great run Michigan!

After a 1-0 loss at Nebraska on Friday and a split of Saturday’s doubleheader, Michigan Baseball’s record falls to 27-17 (8-8 in May). The Wolverines’ RPI before Saturday’s games was 100, an RPI that’s below first place Nebraska (31-11, RPI 42), 2nd Place Maryland (28-15 after a doubleheader sweep at home today against 5th place Indiana; RPI 67), 4th place Iowa (25-18 after a doubleheader loss today at Michigan State; RPI 89) and 6th place Ohio State (21-19 after a win at Northwestern on Friday; RPI 91), but ahead of Indiana (25-18; RPI 111) among Big Ten teams. LINK to RPI Rankings

Currently, D1 Baseball projects Michigan to be in the NCAA Tournament field as a 3-seed in Eugene, Oregon with national 11-seed Oregon, Virginia (2) and Bryant (4), and before today's games, Baseball America projected Michigan to be in the NCAA Tournament field as a 3-seed in Tucson, Arizona with national 4-seed Arizona, Duke (2) and Grand Canyon (4).

EDIT: Assuming that Michigan will be in the tournament field, although this might not be a relevant factor in determining where Michigan will play and what it's regional seed will be, I note that except for some of the other Big Ten teams, Oklahoma, Texas Tech, TCU and Southern University, Michigan played far more games at neutral sites (14) than any team in the country (actually, the Wolverines played the most neutral-site games in the country) and only 16 of Michigan's 44 games were played at home.

Every year including 2019 Michigan has collapsed at seasons end...Pretty much every season...Bakich needs to get this figured out..even in 2019 they collapsed and BARELY made the toruament they were the last team in...Go back and ;look at their record at the end of each season  its MISERABLE and disappointing that this trend continues

After what happened in softball, doubtful the baseball committee ignores that RPI of 100.  Might be bad news on Monday. These people just don't care that the B1G limited itself to conference games only.

And nothing really sticks out to say this is a 2021 tournament team anyways.  Probably wouldn't even be in the conversation without what happened in 2019.  But does that mean you make the 2021 tournament?

As noted, Baseball America has Michigan a 3 Seed. What was not noted, I believe, is that it has Michigan among the last four in the tournament. I believe that prediction includes the loss to Nebraska on Friday. After what happened to the softball team, color me nervous.

I think Michigan will just sneak in. Beating Nebraska once and Indiana losing the series against Maryland might have clinched it. Now, we are guaranteed to finish no worse than 3rd in the Big Ten and our conference is generally a 3 or 4 team bid league. I think Indiana will be out now, and we'll slide in as one of the last 4 in.

Losing 4 of their last 6, many of them televised nationally on BTN, and not having a winning record at home, I’m afraid might be too much for Michigan to overcome to get a bid.

Don’t see Michigan in the tournament in any of the final projections. Not sure why the Big Ten canceled the conference tournament whilst other conferences did not. Another genius move by this incompetent conference. Michigan had their chances but failed down the stretch. It is their own fault they aren’t in.
