Michigan #1 in ESPN Recruiting Rankings
For the first time in the history of the ESPN team recruiting rankings, Michigan is No. 1. With 21 commitments, 11 of whom reside in the ESPN 150

Our new LS put us over the top huh?
It was his huge thighs and buttocks that Brian mentions that won ESPN over.
That illustration is amazing.
Agreed but they used the wrong damn logo. No more split Block M's please.
that not only are we the #1 class. But the only class that has a LS on the list.
thought i read somewhere (in the last 24 hours following the commencement of the michigan fanbase LS freakout/debate) that the #1 LS was on scholarship to LSU? (we apparently signed the #2 LS....). could be wrong tho...
we also know MSU has a LS on scholarship offer since they offered a guy who was previously a preferred walkon committment to michigan... was that the 2013 or 2012 class?
LSU signed one last season. The #1 guy this year is committed to UCLA.
I doubt that we'll end #1, but I expect us to be Top 5 pretty much everywhere. And then you're just splitting hairs.
at 1:00 in the video, there is a kid wearing a Michigan beanie, can anyone tell who that is?
Suck on that, the rest of the SEC + OSU.
I think some teams have been ranked #1 in football and basketball simultaneously -- Florida, probably... maybe even Oklahoma somewhere in the 90s...
But has any school had the #1 recruiting classes in both football and basketball at the same time?
Duke? no, not Duke... j/k...
Sadly, this won't be good enough for some people if we don't get at least 2 more 5* to commit late.
NOT GOOD ENOUGH!
School | Avg. Stars | Avg. Grade | NOTES |
Michigan | 3.80 | 82.40 | 1 unranked, not averaged |
Florida | 4.00 | 83.56 | |
Alabama | 4.07 | 84.00 | |
Texas | 3.86 | 82.64 | |
Georgia | 3.76 | 81.94 | 2 JUCO, not averaged |
If anyone was curious, those are the average star rankings and grades for the top 5 on this list. Considering that the 2011 class wasn't even in the top 25, this is an incredible turnaround in 2 classes. Even if we don't have the highest numbers above, it's more than these numbers - it's the strategy and the approach that has led to a class with 15 players in the Top 300 - that's 5% of the group, and that's not at all easy to accomplish. Granted, there's plenty of time between now and NSD 2013, but I see no reason that we can't stay in the above group at least even if we get just a couple of our remaining targets.
At risk of being labeled flamebait. Knock on wood. Alot can happen and honestly I am concerned but this is Michigan (ferGodsakes) and sometimes I would say if anyone decommitted from this class Coach Hoke would replace them with a better recruit. Just like the coaches who say talk to me in Jan. after the final polls are out and then I will tell what I think of our spot in the polls
Like how we replaced Pharoah Brown with an even better TE commit? Oh wait....
