Michael Rosenberg interviewed on Drew and Mike (9:30am)

It's pretty disgusting....
  • Making claims that he knows what players are thinking/going through
  • "Their hours are crazy by NFL standards" - That is patently false, even if all the alleged hours are required.
  • Admits to calling players - players didn't go to them.
  • Admits to not comparing the situation to other top programs
  • Says he thinks that 3-9 is a result of Rodriguez's "my way or the highway" philosophy and that players were affected by it, negatively, on the field

That's funny. Rosenberg wouldn't go on WDFN with Matt Shepherd claiming he was sick, yet went on the clueless Drew and Mike show. Snyder did go on WDFN where Shepherd led with the question about the GPA, to which Snyder said that Rodriguez simply claims the increase in GPA but it's never been proven so, essentially, they are ignoring it. (No bullshit, I paraphrased his answer, but there's no mistake in the interpretation.) Finally, when asked if these sources were just bitter at the program, he said that Toney Clemens has complete credibility and "may have" quit because of this. This is hilarious considering Clemens didn't quit until spring practices were in full swing and it was clear that he was not going to win a job. http://wdfn.com/cc-common/podcast/single_podcast.html?podcast=MorningSh… Link can be found here. At least Shepard cross-examined him some.

Yeah I listened for a second. I heard him say he thought these strenuous timetables were why they went 3-9 last year... GTFO

  • Claims the story came out now because only recently had he heard of possible rules violations, despite hearing "grumblings" for a long time.
  • Admits that they didn't tell the freshmen what the story was going to be about

This is the part that sickens me "Admits that they didn't tell the freshmen what the story was going to be about " Didn't this guy think of the player's reputations? I'm sure some less informed classmates will give them hell for these quotes that were taken out of context. Tread on anyone to make a story I guess.

Anyone watch the Sunday night interview with Rosenberg / Snyder on Sports Final Edition? Interested to know how Stoney handled it... guessing with softball kid gloves and no questioning the voracity of the newspaper article.

"voracity" - was that intentional? Veracity means truthfulness, while voracity means doing something with great eagerness, hunger, basically with voraciousness. "Voracity" would be a good characterization of the Freep's approach to the article, especially since it probably lowered the article's veracity. Not sure if you meant it, but it is a good pun. (And yes, I am not sure why Brian uses "unverified voracity" instead of "unverified veracity", but I am sure it is an intelligent play on words that I don't get.)
