Welcome to MGoFantasy.  The first fantasy football thread for spring football.

What?!?!

Yes, why watch the spring game when you can compete with your friends to guess this years Freddy Canteen.

How it works... select 1

1) QB

2) RB

3) WR (Not Darboh) Only one good reciever is playing so answer is too obvious

4)TE

5) Flex (must be outside last years 2 deep )

6) D-line

7) Linebacker (Not Jabrill)

8) Corner/Safety (Not Jabrill)

We don't have a computer to calculate scores for us so lets go simple.

1 points per 10 yards of offense

1 point per tackle

5 points per sack/tfl/pbu

10 points per force fumble / int

Score yourself and compare!

"Spring fantasy football may be a new low for us, but I am too excited to care"

Yes I agree there are some flaws in the points system.  Here are the thoughts behind my decisions.

The goal is for points to be related to future success.  I also want people to look matchups.  Maybe somene who will be playing against backups is going to tear it up?  Go find that guy.

1) No poitns for TDs.  In one game TDs are very random.  Consider Smith has 100 yards and Isaac gets 3 yards and 1 TD. I did not want those days to be equivelent so we award production.

2) Why no Darboh or Jabrill but yes on Butt and Lewis.

So Darboh and Jabrill seem so obvious that it takes away the fun.  I can see a similar argument for Butt, and I would agree.  This may have been an oversight.  My apologies.  I stand by my Lewis decision, and here is why: Remember Marlin Jackson?  Irs really hard to get stats as a lock-down corner.  I could see Stribling or Clark getting more Tackles or even a pick just because the ball will get thrown their way.  Jabrill peppers is a swiss army knife.  He plays almost every position on defense (so its hard to slot him into one role) and he is so clearly our best "linebacker" it kind of takes the fun out it.

3) Qb picks are not considered, Why not?

umm good point

I guess I will need to come up with a better system for next year.  But for now, lets play within these rules.

Dear Mister Fantasy play us a tune
Something to make us all happy
Do anything take us out of this gloom
Sing a song, play guitar, make it snappy

Granted, it is first time playing so my record, although not impressive, is almost equal to everyone else's.♣

QB - the young man from TX

RB - the RB, formerly of USC

WR - Perry

TE - They will limit Jake's PT rightfully  so, Wheatley the Younger already scored on Play of the Game, so obviously:  Gentry. Jim wants to get as many looks as he can at this young man.

Flex: And in a trade with myself, I am placing Perry at the WR and Mitchell will fill the flex position. *

DL -  All but one who will be immediately replaced upon the arrival of the Garden State Goliath. They are - Wormley, Charlton, Godin and Winovich

CB - How many other times in your life will you be able to anwer a ? with the names Lewis & Clark?

7) Linebacker (Not Jabrill)

8) Corner/Safety (Not Jabrill)

*furiously erases line items from all-Jabrill team*

In all seriousness though, you probably could set up the rosters in Excel, OP and if you kept track of the game well enough (it would require the manual intervention of actually scoring the game, of course), get the score pretty much correct as well. If anyone wants some assistance with setting that up, I might be able to create the appropriate spreadsheet.
