Hangin in Zion and Bryce Canyon with my son on our annual boys trip. We hiked part of the Narrows in Zion today. Highly recommend it, if you haven't had the chance.

We'll be heading to SLC on Thursday morning. And sitting somewhere in the Redzone (N21, I think), Can't wait. Super excited.

Was there last week, sign at the stadium train stop stating your ticket to the game gives you a free ride... They are also running extra trains for the game.

I've never been to SLC.  Is this a mass transit train system you're referring to?  If there's a stop close to our hotel, it might be easier than attempting to drive and park near the staduim.

E34 Row 49....have a feeling a lot of red will be in my section. Staying at University Marriott WED and THU. The real question is where are we going for the post game celebration.

Flying in from Los Angeles on Thursday afternoon.  Taking my nephew who recently moved to SLC from Monroe, MI for work.  Harbaugh's first game as HC... it's like a calling.  Just have to be there.  Worked the KSL.COM site, thank you for the info MGOBLOGGERS,  for two singles at $100 a piece, only to have my UM contact come through with a pair of tic's, together, in the UM section.

Planning to head over to 'Beer Bar', after the game.  Told the owner, who was helping me look for tickets, that I'd swing by for a celebratory drink after the game; but, if there's a better bar that will be filled with 'Maize n Blue' folks humming Temptation,  please post!

By the way, hoping for a big UM turn out.  MANY local season ticket holders, with obviously no desire to see UM play, were selling this game to our fans in order to pay for their entire season.  I'm hoping that means a big sea of Blue!

Glad to hear that so many are heading out to SLC for the game. My family went to Ann Arbor for the game last year and we had a great time and the UM fans were great to us. I hope that we can return the favor. We are super pumped to have Michigan in Rice-Eccles Stadium. Probably the most prestigious opponent we've ever had in SLC. Don’t hesitate to join us in the Utah tailgate. There should be cupcakes.

We put together a list of places to eat and drink in SLC over at the Utefans.net message board. They are organized by location(ish).  Just copy and paste the link:

To answer some questions from the thread:

There is a light-rail train called TRAX from the SLC airport through downtown and up to campus. It stops right at Rice-Eccles. Fare is free on gameday with your game ticket. Pay attention to if your train is going to Campus or to Draper/Sandy as you might have to transfer downtown so you don't end up in BFE.

Gracies would be a good spot to meet up, lots of space but no it is not kid friendly, 21+  But there are good places all over downtown and it's pretty walkable.  Squatters Brewpub IS kid friendly. They have a full bar off to the side but you get carded at the table instead of at the door and they have lots of good local craft beers.

The closest bar to RES is the University Park Marriott, but there isn't anything else around there night-life / entertainment related. I’d highly recommend riding the train and finding somewhere downtown instead unless you are staying there or meeting someone who is.

As far as things to do outside SLC if you’re spending extra days here, my first recommendation if you have a car is to drive up Little Cottonwood Canyon to the Snowbird Ski Resort. You can get on the tram ($15) and ride it to the top of the Wasatch at 11,000 feet. Spectacular views. I believe Octoberfest is also happening up there right now on the weekends.

Park City has been mentioned and has something for everyone. There is shopping and restaurants on Main Street and the ski resort there has an alpine slide, alpine coaster, and zip line but it can be a little expensive. The High West Distillery gives tours and flights of their spirits by reservation.

And don’t bother going to the Great Salt Lake unless you just really have to check that off your bucket list or need to dump a body. There’s really nothing out there.

Hope you guys have a good time in SLC and at the game!

Will be there with two of my buddies (class of 2011). Would love to tailgate with some people in the same section and just head to the game together!

N25 Sec 25 Seat 40 Making the 4 mile bike ride from work... would def. be down to meet and tailgate with people. For pre-game bars, The Green Pig in downtown is great. Beer Bar is also very awesome, so I will def. recommend that as well for before or after the game. Sugarhouse Pub and Campfire Lounge are also my go to's. Although I do live close to them they have much more laid back vibes than most bars. To add to LiquidUte's suggestions. I would keep driving in Little Cottonwood, past snowbird and go to Alta, continue up the summer road and go to Cecret Lake. Snowbird also has octoberfest during the weekends, which is fun but expensive.

I'm not sure if there is precedent for doing this on the forum but my friends bought tickets together before I knew if I could take off work so I currently have plans to meet them in SLC and buy a single ticket for the game.  Is there anyone else who wants to buy a ticket together so we're at least sitting by fellow UM fans?

Heading to the game with a couple buddies.  Flying in Thursday morning.  I have looked through the threads and cannot find any potential pregame meetup locations.  Anyone know of a bar where Michigan fans are meeting?  Maybe a tailgate?  The alumni one is sold out.  Staying in a hotel downtown.  Any help would be appreciated.  Go Blue
