META: Haikus--A Public Service Announcement
[ed-S: senior haikus are coming]
Dear Readers of MGoBlog,
I have read Brian's twitter reactions, and I hope to help improve the MGoBlog community through improved board content.
Haikus are almost certainly MGoBlog's poetry form of choice. These are generally viewed as three lines of poetry following a 5-7-5 syllable pattern. However, I have come across a fantastic resource that discusses why this form does not have to be followed precisely (link). A few other pointers from the website:
1. Haikus tend to examine the thing which caused an emotion and not the emotion itself.
2. Haikus, while not following a 5-7-5 structure precisely, are still sparingly worded and are written in three lines.
3. February is National Haiku Writing Month.
I hope this enriches your poetry and improves the board!

Interesting links about Haikus. Apparently November counts as early winter but I feel like any month of the regular season is by definition fall. So here's a late autumn linked to early winter haiku run.
The morning cold
Warmed briefly by the Devins --
This day burns bright?
Michigan's hopes --
Like flowers out of season,
Fall to the ground.
