Problem for sparty with Fickell is that MSU is not his end game. Do you think this "destination" is what he had on his coaching progression as his end game. Big problem.

MSU job is perfect for Fickell.

1. B1G football > Cinci

2.  Following in the footsteps of MD, his mentor

3. his hatred of Michigan can be expressed all year round.

This may have zero to do with Fickell, but as long as we're talking Cinci FWIW:

"Youngstown State is expected to hire Cincinnati assistant Doug Phillips as its next head coach, a source told ESPN.

Phillips, who has coached Cincinnati's running backs the past two seasons and been on staff the past three, will replace Bo Pelini, who left YSU to become defensive coordinator at LSU."

Since the Fickell MSU Messiah thread was finally taken down after it pretty much went up in flames, I'll leave this buried here (though it probably was discussed on the deleted thread already)

...posted on Twitter a few hours ago, Fickell did NOT come back to Lansing on the jet with MSU AD beekman. Not a good sign for the hopes of spartie.
