Mean 'ol FREEP . . .
OK, so like, a copy of today's FREEP was layin' around the office and I decide to investigate the coverage of our beloved wolvies, looking for fairness and the like.
Snyder's column was OK, but next to it under a heading of "Those who stay . . ." (my pulse quickened, breathing rapid, pupils dilated) Talked about what a great f-in day Ryan Mallet had!
The FREEP must be doing very well if they think they can constantly piss off half the state and not suffer the consequences. I say - call to arms continue the FREEP link ban and be strong my brothers. Be strong!

did the article mention that Arkansas lost? ( Not Mallet's fault, but just curious if the result was mentioned. )

I can see Shyster and Rosenpuke wanting to be controversial to sell papers, but shouldn't their editor see that using the freep to carry on a vendetta against the dominant football program in the state is at best counterproductive and at worst abuse of their positions in the press?
They are in severe need of an intervention at the freep.

The article referenced is from Free Press News Services, which means its a collections of blurbs off the wires (mostly AP) that some sports editor puts together to fill space.
Malign the Freep for this if you want, but at least malign the right people. This is not on Snyder or Rosenberg.

True, but that headline was most likely written by the Free Press's sports editor.

I'm with you. I started reading the Freep in 4th grade. My dad and I had a rivalry, he liked the News and I liked the Freep. Our arguements lasted years. Freep came out earlier in the U.P. but did not have last night's scores. I argued it did not matter, the content was better. Graduated from Tech, moved around the country and world, tried to read the Freep after around a 5 year break and was astonished. What happened? My dad, as much as I hate to admit, was spot on.

That's some pretty impressive cognitive dissonance.

Why did you touch it? You might have smallpox now.

Unbelievable. Actual subscription dwindling...one more week of that rag, and then we're out! And just Sunday, the writing out of Snide-er was reasonable.
Just the latest in a very long string of douche-ey, daily posts from those wankers at the Freep, writing about players who quit, or who left for another school. And not a single other college sport gets that crap quite like U-M football does.
Can't say I'll miss the Freep...

I've been reading the mgoblog for about a month now and have decided to join in finally. Just wondering if anyone has an update on the supposed practice violations brought up by the idiots at the freep earlier in the season. I find it strange that something they felt so strongly about could disappear with 3 wins. Where's all the freep insiders now? Don't get me wrong, I hope that we can forget about all this for good soon. Don't want to hear bad news about this around say... Penn St week, a very crucial point in our season.
