MBB Pursuing 6-9 Memphis Transfer Malcolm Dandridge

There are reports that Michigan is hotly pursuing Memphis transfer Malcolm Dandridge, a 6-9 defensive specialist who has one year of eligibility remaining. His offensive stats are nothing to get excited about: He only averaged 5.7 PPG last year (he was out for a good chunk with an injury) and has never attempted a three-pointer in his four-year college career. But he's apparently pretty good on the defensive end. Looks like he would be a spot player at most.

STORY.

In other basketball news, WVU's Jose Perez is visiting on July 28-30, but Gonzaga is apparently heavily in the mix now.

Also, incoming Kansas freshman Marcus Adams Jr., a four-star recruit, is leaving the program. No word on whether Michigan has interest.

Profile sounds a lot like freshman Tarris: muscular, athletic, rim-protecting, turnover-prone big with defensive versatility and offensive limitations, who improved FT % enough to stay on the floor.

Michigan MBB roster management has been an absolute failure and Juwan is clearly over his skis. This upcoming season is going to be an embarrassment - strap yourself in.

Maybe the heat waves and climate migration can get us back to contending annually by 2030.

We don’t even have “just a body” as a backup C. Right now, a combo of Will T, Olivier, and Tray Jackson are the backup 5s. Two of them would be pretty poor at the position and Olivier can be a a solid small ball 5, but you don’t want him playing too many minutes there overall.

He is a solid defender. Offense leaves alot to be desired but I think he’s definitely someone that isn’t going to cost you the game during his minutes. Being against this is just absolutely silly.

you say yourself, he's a depth add.  which is the same as being just a body.

this board just doesn't tolerate anyone not being effusive about every little thing Juwan does with the program, to the point where if I say i'm not excited about adding a guy who couldn't see time at Memphis I'm being irrational.

it doesn't really matter because this team is going to be horrible, and if Juwan stays beyond this year he won't be leaving on his own terms.

I think Davis Moseley (formerly worked at Rivals and 247) has been on the bleeding edge of a lot of this info.

Moseley has also said there may be a hold up with our pursuit of Dandridge (sounds like some sort of off-court thing). And, the issue with Perez is supposedly that he wants more NIL $ than we're willing to pay.

Moseley does say we are interested in Adams.

He has also hinted at Michigan being interested in an unnamed 2024 recruit who is looking to reclassify to 2023 as well as 2023 Israeli wing Ofri Naveh.

The shift towards athleticism is quite clear and it wouldn't surprise me to see them try to be more uptempo this year, especially with a PG that's in year 2 of the offense (finally).

If that's the case, premium will be on a couple trailers that can hit daggers, everyone else crashes the boards, and everyone gets back on D.

The only player we should/are pursuing in the portal is a shooter--a 2 or a 3.  And im guessing that is exactl what is occurring.

Dandridge looks like a solid PF off the bench who can spell TWill for a few minutes a half.
