Mascot survey at women's basketball game

Submitted by Stewart52 on
Hey guys, I'm at the women's basketball game right now, and we just got handed a survey about the affect a mascot would have on attendance at womens basketball games. The survey was for a group in an upper level sports marketing class, so it wasn't anything sponsored by the athletic department, but you gotta wonder if the athletic department brought up the idea for the project. I know in mechanical engineering a lot of the projects are sponsored by me professors, I don't know if the sports marketing program works the same way. Anyway I don't know if this means anything, but it was definitely a shock to get handed the survey. Im posting this on my phone, I'll post pictures of the survey when I get back. Also, I saw Trey Burke show up early today, looks like he learned his lesson from last time. Go blue!

Maybe the people in the class are doing some research in the hopes of making a proposal to the athletic department.  I find it clever that they're doing it at an event that doesn't typically draw big attendance.  That is how you get the attention of Dave Brandon because if an idea brings more dollars to the athletic department he may be more willing to listen to a proposal.

I thought I went to a Michigan Bball game last Friday and thought I ended up at a minor league baseball game.  Ads on the scoreboard, ads between the walkway and upper level seats, find the roast beef sandwich under the cup game on the scoreboard, Papa Johns pizza giveaway. I hope this is not the future of Michigan Stadium.

Yeah Crisler been like that for years, but if a Michigan football game does the same things MSU does at their fball games with the shout out to sponsors and the hat game I'm gonna be pissed.

And I'll say it again.  There is absolutely nothing that can be accomplished by a mascot that cannot be accomplished by frisbee dogs at halftime.

From the upper reaches of Michigan Stadium, it would look like a hairy badger running between four people.

Intimidating!  Rooooaar

Dave Brandon needs to seriously stfu about mascots.  The Noid did wonders for Domino's IIRC.
