Marvin Robinson's injury status?

Submitted by Denard is Fast on
I noticed that Marvin Robinson did not play in his team's last game due to injury. Does anyone have any information regarding his injury status? Is it serious or a one or two week thing? Any information would be appreciated.

Marvin Robinson plays safety. Rivals has him listed as a linebacker just b/c they project him to play there in college due to his lack of top-end speed. Right now he has been saying the coaches have been recruiting him at safety but said he could be a good fit at Steve Brown's current position and might try him out there.

he's coming in as a LB at this point. This is from his last Rivals update on Sept 16: "They are doing real good and I like what Coach Greg [Robinson] is doing with defensive schemes," Robinson said. "Coach Greg Robinson was telling me I am mostly going to be playing what Stevie Brown is playing right now, a hybrid strong safety/linebacker. Mostly I've been watching [Brown] and seeing everything that he's been doing. I think that I can fit in real good at that position. I'm just ready to get down there and be on the team." http://michigan.rivals.com/content.asp?CID=989388

You basically repeated what I just said with the exception that you're saying Marvin's definitely going to come in and play that position. Brandon Smith was expected to play safety when he came in, as was Stevie Brown and Jonas Mouton. None of those players are in their previous roles any longer. You can't say that Robinson will definitely come in and play linebacker when there's still a chance that he could play safety, which is what he plays now. We have much more need at that position, and if Robinson comes in and shows in practice that he can actually play safety, I'm sure the coaches would rather have him in that role. Again I could be wrong, but in my above post, I said exactly what you said, that Robinson could play Steve Brown's position. The only difference is that I'm not going to speak in absolutes.

You can't talk to the Gods like that! You are going to piss them off even worse. Learn: "Hey God's how is your day going so far? I hope it is going great. That Tennessee field goal that you shot into terrence cody's stomach was crazy! Oh hey, I was wonderin....how is Marvin feelin today?"

correctly someone on Scout posted about this a couple weeks back. He has a hamstring/groin pull. Doctors advised him to take a couple weeks off, which would be the rest of the season. He probably could play in the last game or so but their team is not going to make the playoffs so there is little reason to risk further injury. I'm sure someone will correct me if I am not remembering right.

me - thanks for the info. Seeing as though he's an EE that is probably the smart move. And as you already stated his team isn't going to the playoffs, they were pretty horrid this year.
